R8 Sturt v Eagles

Postby DOC » Wed May 25, 2022 6:51 pm

Saturday 2.10

Both sides coming of a loss. No new injury concerns listed for either side but the Eagles could be strengthened with Toumpas, Redden and Lonergan likely inclusions.

Do the Eagles play well at Unley? Yep. They have won 12 of their last 13.

This should be a good game. Sturts form last week was surprising. Will it be a one off? Eagles coped Adelaide at a bad time(ing).

Eagles by a goal.

Massive game for WWT. Lose and the top 3 just about cooked? Hard to win it from there. MUST WIN

Sturt wont want to drop either or they well and truly in that battle also with tough games ahead. They would want to keep a step above that and consolidate after an insipid last 3/4 last week. Who's going to break the lines?
Tough draw coming up next 3 weeks Ravens and Bays to follow.

Break it up. Only 98.

Riley Knight had 48 disposals. That's as many as I can remember.

Best performance of the year by the Eags, a full 4 quarter effort. We perform better at unley than any other ground in the league, including our own!
Many good players today, Knight obviously stood out but Sinor and Clarke (best game for the club) were also excellent. Redden will be better for the run under his substantial belt. Litster continues to impress in his first season and Lehmann blanketed Davis well. Duval proving to be an excellent addition in defence. Thought sturts possession game, especially in defence, was risky given the conditions and led to a few turnovers.

My understanding is he hasn’t nominated for the mid season draft . It’s been talked about on the Eagles forum

Good news. Put your money on him now, as his odds will shorten when a number of his competitors for the medal find themselves at badly managed victorian clubs.
