Probably one for the trivia buffs: can anyone recall the last time a reserves coach was sacked? I'm stumped.

Wayne Slattery at South

Probably didn't fit in at South because he had a premiership medal.

Did you watch the umpire after the perfect holding the ball decision at the 3 min mark of the last. Contact was first on the upper arm and the port player lifted his arm to initiate high contact. As he ran into set the mark the umpire was indicating the Port player had raised the arm to make it look high.

Great umpiring, shite commentating.

Edit

Just replayed the free, first contact DEFINATELY below the shoulder.

Is your relationship with the truth as distant as your relationship with spelling or is there DEFINATELY no correlation?

Saying a call is a "a hot call" (you know, the one you went back and watched on replay, rather than once off as all players, umpires and commentators have the opportunity to do) and mentioning once after that Port people may have a right to query a call, is hardly going off "half cocked" or whatever ridiculous hyperbole you painted on it.

Maybe next time you pop.back to Adelaide from north, head on over for a conversation in person about it. Before you do, go back and watch the passage again and feel free to revisit your initial assessment.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

He played close to 200 games at South so I doubt that was his problem. Perhaps he was a ordinary coach

Yeah but he fitted in to those 200 games as he didn't have his medal then. ;)

A long long long time ago , I practiced being a race caller and a SANFL commentator
I was an absolute failure
Trying to work out a player in a contest in a split second was difficult
Working out the colours of jockeys etc was a nightmare

I dont feel that I should criticize any callers in the AFL and SANFL
This is basically because they are better than me

CK Keep up the great work Redleg
Your preparation for games with your stats and quirks on players etc is excellent
Your calls are consistently very good

My advice to anyone who laments callers, is to turn the volume down

Norwood used the ball far better in blustery conditions, my word that wind was cold. The shower just on half time made it a little tighter as Port's inside mids got more of the ball but ultimately it was the first half where Norwood's 8.1 on the back of some easy shots on goal was the difference.

Port's last home game of the year next week against Glenelg with the construction on the new PAFC HQ getting underway the week after. Port will play West and Centrals at Richmond and Elizabeth as "home" games.
PAFC. Forever.

This Port? No
The previous one played a season or two using Adelaide Oval as their home ground so they probably didn't win a game at Alberton then.

Interesting to see the SANFL app recently update the Port v Centrals game from 'TBA' to Sunday 24 July at Alberton if this is the case.

Also, would this mean Alberton is out for Port's AFLW matches?
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

The plan is to have the demolition done by then to have the site secure and the AFLW can play there still.
