One doesn't have to go too far back to find Percy (Percival) Keckwick, Sturt's first captain in 1901, was an old Southie...

Yes he was one of many South players "dispersed" to other clubs when the electoral zoning system was introduced- 5 of whom became captains at rival clubs.

I see Wayne Weideman on SANFL gave 3 votes - Voss, 2 votes - Wilkinson, 1 vote - O'Neill
Reckon a few South defenders eg Garthwaite, Haines, Summerton, Claverino might have been overlooked here
Agree Wilkinson's 3 goals were a big difference, interesting how people see best players
