Thought we were a chance in this game on recent form of both sides ,but Power reserves are going to be at their strongest for a long time.
6 ins not including the emergencies from the AFL so looking at probably 16 -18 AFL players in their side .
Unfortunately cant see us winning now .

This is annoying. Last time we played the Maggies there were 17 or 18 AFL listed players and they beat us. Then they lost a bunch of games with about 8 AFL listed players in the side, and now here we go again we are up against 16-17 apparently.

We are in better form this time around though, so hopefully we give it a crack.

And that's why this competition is a farce. Imagine if we were playing for a spot in the 5. One year, I think we made the 5 by percentage over South. We generally played pretty weak Crows and Port teams that year and South unluckily got them nearer full strength, can completely impact on the competition hence they create too much inequity.
Disappointed in our club for allowing the game to be scheduled at this time.

Here is an email from Greg Edwards, explaining why we are playing Saturday night.

G'day Gary, playing Saturday night because Alberton Oval is under construction and being Ports home game, they get the opportunity of finding the alternative. We wanted to play it at Elizabeth during the day, but the Power are playing at 4.00pm at Adelaide Oval. With our Ressies playing at Norwood at 10.20am, we asked to play it 1.30pm at Woodville so our support staff could get to both, but they rejected that as it clashed with the AFL game. They ended up with a night game only so their AFL staff could get there after the AFL game. We didn't have a choice in the end. Cheers

And, "Yep, their emergencies can and probably will play. They'll have around 9 ins from last week it looks like."

Correct. He missed Round 1 against South due to being a close contact.

Once again proof the SANFL are controlled by the AFL .
They should be telling teams who they play and when .
Typically gutless decision by the SANFL .

Yep, load of rubbish accommodating their "afl support staff". Weak by our club should have told them to p%$$ off.

If the prime reason was to have their support staff available to assist at the SANFL match, surely they should have opted for Friday night? It is going to be a heck of a rush for them to get from their AwFuL match (4pm start) to Woodville Oval (7:40pm) in time to be useful for their players. I would say that their prime reason for having the match on Saturday night is for their AFL emergencies to play, thus giving them their strongest team possible.
Btw, how many Saturday night matches have been played in the SANFL lately? I doubt whether any of our boys would have played in one.
Cheers

Weak as piss by the SANFL. Port should be told to turn up when they are told or forfeit the game
