No such thing as a shoe in when you have a first year playing coach.

Warren Tredrea joining the North Adelaide Power Roosters as a specialist coach.
Come on over Booney, you know you want to.
We're more Port Adelaide than Port Adelaide is!

Please note. The reference to profit which is an error is made by the journalist (Andrew Capel). The reference to surplus which is correct is made by the SANFL.

THE SANFL has rebounded from two Covid-riddled years to post a profit for
2022.
After fighting for its survival when the pandemic hit in 2020 and battling
through restrictions in 2021, the league, which lost $1.58m in that period,
has announced positive cash earnings of $1.02m for last year.
The result, announced at the SANFL annual general meeting on Tuesday
night and which comes after the league had budgeted for another loss, is
largely the result of one-off savings after the Adelaide Oval Stadium
Management Authority reduced the service fee charged to the SANFL to cover
stadium costs.
Cost management and an increase in Adelaide Oval crowds also helped the
league rebound from the pandemic.
Following employee stand-downs in the 2020 financial year, SANFL’s
workforce returned to near pre-Covid levels with competitions running as
normal in 2022.
Financial distributions to state league clubs rose by six per cent compared to
2021, with a focus on increasing resources for female football.
SA Football Commission chairman Rob Kerin said despite the positive
financial result, the league would need to remain “financially prudent when
managing its operations in an improving but still difficult economic
environment”.
“SANFL is budgeting for a cash surplus for 2023, but that will be heavily
dependent on more people walking through the gates of Adelaide Oval this
AFL season and for major events,’’ he said. “Significant increases in
operating costs at Adelaide Oval, due to global economic conditions, will also
weigh heavily on our ambitions for a surplus in 2023.
“Despite the headwinds in the broader economy, SANFL is well positioned to
continue investing strategically, implement new initiatives and grow the
game of football in South Australia.

I asked ChatGPT to "Give a likelihood of each SANFL team's chance of being the premier this year".

It replied:

As an AI language model, I do not have access to real-time information or future predictions, and I cannot accurately predict the outcome of a sporting event. However, I can provide some general information about the SANFL teams and their performance in recent years:

Norwood, Port Adelaide, and Sturt are traditionally strong teams and have won multiple premierships in the past decade.

Glenelg won the SANFL premiership in 2019 and made it to the grand final in 2020, so they are considered a strong contender.

Adelaide, as a reserve team for the Adelaide Crows AFL club, generally performs well but is not eligible for the SANFL premiership.

South Adelaide and Central District have had mixed performances in recent years, but they have both won premierships in the past decade.

West Adelaide and North Adelaide have struggled in recent years and have not won a premiership since 2015 and 2018, respectively.

It is important to note that the outcome of a sporting event can be influenced by many factors, including injuries, player performance, and team dynamics, and it is difficult to predict with certainty which team will win the SANFL premiership this year.

Well at least the Clowns can't win it!

South 2021 under 16's and before you fire off:

He posed the question "Give a likelihood of each SANFL team's chance of being the premier this year".

not "Give a likelihood of each SANFL team's chance of being the mens league premier this year".

Advertiser reporting the State game vs Western Australia will be played on a Friday at 3 pm (curtain raiser to AFL match)

Seriously, that is a joke. Who will be there to watch, be lucky to be 100 people.

Play it stand alone on Saturday at the Bay, even 2k there be good atmosphere. Or just get rid of the game altogether

ChatGpt seems a bit more bullish about our chances this year than I am ;) :

As an AI language model, I cannot predict future events or outcomes with certainty. However, Central Districts Football Club has a history of success in the SANFL, having won the premiership six times in the past. Therefore, they certainly have the potential to win the 2023 SANFL Premiership with the right preparations, performance and team spirit in place. But ultimately, it would depend on various factors such as the form of their players, the strength of the opposition, injuries, and other unanticipated circumstances in the lead up to and during the season.

Not sure why it thinks we have only the 6 premierships though.

Are they proactively trying to kill off any lingering interest in the game?

Does the SANFL management have any input in running our game anymore or does it employees just collect their cheque on Friday.
