Exactly right Gazza we improved after each trial game but as you stated we will have an idea after 4-5 games.
Speaking of which we have a tough start even though we beat South they had at least 6-7 missing who are easily in their best 22.
North in Round 2 will be tough even at home they are a great side.
Adelaide will depend on how many AFL players they have in and then we get Sturt at Unley where we tend to get smashed
So yes we have shown some promising signs but we have a long way to go

Off the pace at this stage IMO, but did have a much better second half yesterday.

My nomination for stand out recruit is Leyton Chisholm. Strong and clean in the contests, also able to play as an attacking target.
Brinn Little looks lively down back.
Nietschke is looking to be a different version of himself this year, excellent option in the mids.
Liddy has clean skills with quickness, his possessions are creative.
Buechner and Kendall are 2nd Yr recruits, but both seemed a step up from 2022 models.

Who did not play for Centrals yesterday that would be likely to play round 1?

Struggled a bit for consistency I found in D1 last year, had days when he clunked everything, then days when he couldn't catch a feel on a crowded train.

True......................................but they are still only trial matches.
I think we'll know how well we're going after round 4 or 5.

Agreed that trial games don't matter so far as team results go. However, the form shown by individual players does. My mail is that Hugo Munn, for one, has shown more than what many said he was capable of.

Agreed. Dale is a bit of a form player. When things aren't travelling well for him, he has been known to drop out of matches. However, when it IS his day.... :)

Suspended via an incident in the Norwood trial match I heard.

I’m not sure what’s going on with Larkin ?? Was named to play the first trial. But I havent seen him.

Linke and Weaver could probably be added to that list too.
Competition for spots is tight...which is good to see.

If he's anywhere near the league side you're in for the same shit as the last few years.

Certainly not the flashiest player going around but pretty reliable. Averaged 13 possessions at 89% in his 16 league games last year, same form in 2021, greatly improved seasons on 2020 and prior. He has developed strongly in that time.

Jayden was included in the Calcutta booklet so I am not sure if he has gone. I wasn't at the actual Calcutta so not sure if he was removed after printing.
