It will be interesting to see how some games pan out over the next few weeks with College football starting up.

I think all get impacted pretty heavily except South and Central, although do Trinity play in the Sat college system?

Yep, Trinity do play in the Saturday afternoon comp.
Always loved catching up with Travis Head when he played against us.

Speaking to North on the weekend they mentioned that they will have about 7 players out of the 18s due to college football.

I would think that most clubs would have about 5+ players out.

A range of schools, I think. Noah McDonald is from Iggies. Since our boundaries expanded to include suburbs such as Golden Grove, we have gained more players from private schools.

The following results may say something about how different the comp is without the private school players: three weeks ago, Glenelg beat South by 43 points in the U18s; yesterday South beat Glenelg by 121 points.

Round 7 Torrens University SANFL U16 Match Wraps
from sanfl website

West Adelaide 9.7 (61) d Central District 7.14 (56)
A colossal performance from Central District’s Dyson Sharp wasn’t enough to topple West Adelaide as it earned a five-point win in Round 7 of the Torrens University SANFL U16s at Hisense Stadium.

Sharp was everywhere for the Bulldogs, gathering 52 disposals, nine marks and 12 clearances, but the Bloods made Central pay for inaccurate goal kicking.

West Adelaide’s Josh Goldie performed well, accumulating 31 touches, with Logan McCabe, Jensen Palmer and Zanen Syrokos all booting two goals.

Gun forward Dougie Cochrane kicked four goals for the Bulldogs and ruckman Kai Evans booted two to go with 17 hit outs.

Sturt 13.13 (91) d Woodville-West Torrens 2.5 (17)
Sturt continued its early-season dominance with a strong 74-point win over Woodville-West Torrens at Wigan Oval.

The Double Blues led from start to finish, finding the scoreboard frequently and restricting the Eagles to just seven scoring shots.

Jett Dahlitz was damaging for the ladder leaders, gathering 25 disposals (23 kicks), 11 marks and eight rebound 50s.

Zack Taylor kicked three goals for the home side and Owen Hartley-Brown found plenty of the ball for the Eagles.

Glenelg 10.8 (68) d South Adelaide 7.11 (53)
Glenelg clawed its way back from a goalless opening term to defeat South Adelaide by 15 points at Stratarama Stadium.

In a sea-sawing affair, the Panthers were white-hot early before the Bays bounced back to cut the margin to one point at half-time.

The Panthers’ nine-point three quarter-time lead didn’t last long, with Glenelg booting four unanswered goals to remain second on the ladder.

Max Atkin sealed the deal for the Tigers by booting two last term goals to finish with three for the game, as teammate Isaiah Clothier put up 30 disposals and a goal.

Jesse Nye was the Panthers’ leading ball-getter with 21 and Noah Kliems Carlaw kicked two first quarter goals.

North Adelaide 11.3 (69) d Norwood 4.9 (33)
An accurate North Adelaide kept Norwood goalless in the first half before earning a 36-point victory at Prospect Oval.

The Roosters started the round in seventh position but moved into fourth with a well-rounded performance.

Charlie Dickeson produced a standout game in the red and white, collecting 36 disposals (34 kicks), 10 marks, nine clearances and a goal, and Hamish Collins kicked three majors.

Norwood ruckman Oliver Gribben was the Redlegs’ best, winning 22 hit outs and seven clearances to go with his 19 touches and two goals.

Sharp surely gets a promotion after that effort, he's good enough to play league footy, was pretty good at Under 18 level last year. He's very, very advanced with his football.

Like Phillipou last year fair few players are now choosing not to play senior SANFL footy in their draft year. Most of the Victorian lads come from the under 18 comps and have never played senior footy before.

It looks like Patty Weckert from the Eagles has gone down that path after some early struggles this season in the league side which threatened to derail his draft potential. Went from league to u/18's last weekend and went back and kicked 4 goals. His prospects are most likely going to be better having a 60-70 goal year in under 18's than struggling to get more than a few possies in league football.
