Nothing to be happy about with that performance, suggest they wont be the only ones not happy.

Well played Central, futures rosey (not Connor) with footy like that

Little bit of a last quarter fade out but our best performance in many many many years. Reason i say that is we have had good wins but generally has been from some individual brilliance or us winning a scrappy affair, or still having one really poor quarter.

Today ticked alot of boxes we hadnt ticked in years
-Forward pressure
-Skills coming out of defence
-Tall targets to kick to....even if they didn't mark they weren't out marked
-Fairly consistent performance

My Best in no particular order: Illes, Munn, Chisolm, Liddy, Shaw, Pearce, McLennan, Kendall

For the first time in ten years the lid is almost off

Just got home from my other Religion. Very very pleasing result, Doggies. Also great that our recruits featured highly. Sort of had the feeling we may do okay today. The Ressies looked really switched on and that tends to extend through to the league. Talking of the Ressies, a lot of players are putting pressure on for spots in the Ones. We could do okay this season...but one swallow does not maketh.... Performing in Round 3 becomes doubly important. Also good to see the junior grades each 2 and 1, even though the U18s threw away a very winnable game through another poor start.

Defensive master class led by Hokso, Jezza and Magic Billy. The whole back unit was outstanding.

Mids shared the load with Chisholm providing the grunt and Liddy the polish that we have lacked in past seasons.
Huge kudos for Munn....contests everything, both in the air and on the deck.

Some excellent end to end play, although we probably didn't make the most of our forward 50s. Having said that, the defensive efforts from the forwards resulted in many of the errors from North.

Good result in the ressies also with Fletcher Carroll, Anzac L and Will Splann all showing they are going to be more than useful as the season progresses.

UUUUUU DDDOGGGS!!!!

Dominated and should of won by more

Pearce 6 disposals 2 goals.

Whilst Pearce was very much improved on last week. Naming him in best players on the day. NO.

How good was Liddy ?? Dominated centre clearance for the dogs.

He’s another Trav Schiller. Munn has talent to burn. Chisholm still building he reminds me of Holman when he first played at cdfc.

McLennan is very impressive and Pickering competed well

So glad the boys proved me wrong with that win.
The defensive unit was very good liked the game from Mihail Lochowiak
A real team effort today.
Also well done to Jacob Surjan after the match to make the effort to go and congratulate Thommo on the win.

I would have had Pearce in the lower end of the best but 4 shots on goal (take that every week). Kicked two crucial goals at real crucial stages. Contested really well and i don't think was out marked once (something we have severely lacked in recent years).

Also thought his efforts at ground level around the stoppages in our forward 50 after rucking led to a lot of pressure.

I had him as the best tall forward on the park which was imo worthy of being in the best.

Good reaction today after the disappointment of last week. As suspected we looked much more assured on our home deck and the early pressure and desperation set the tone for the day. Loved seeing Thommo match Young with Chisholm at the opening bounce and I thought he negated Young in that first quarter well whilst getting his fair share of the footy and kicking a nice snapshot goal.
Not getting too carried away though as North clearly not firing on all cylinders as yet and our next assignment against the Crows will be a tough one.
Good reward for effort nonetheless and will provide a healthy dose of optimism within the squad in the buildup to the next game.
Thankful the weather ended up being good- as already mentioned the attendance probably the best in a few years which will please the club and the SANFL… might have even cracked 3000 which is almost like cracking 10K back in the day!
