Feral Central fans

Postby Magpies96 » Mon Oct 09, 2006 8:08 pm

So you might say Pot calling the kettle black, but I have never seen so many ferals in my life.

Not that is a bad thing, they were actually a credit to the Centrals club, the noise the passion right till the very end (Most of them) and I saw no trouble.

So they might look feral but they are great supporters and something the SANFL should brag about and not frown upon.

The SANFL Grand final had great atmosphere because of them, even with the flare :P

So well done!

PS So too the Eagle fans behind the goals down the Southern End, they just had less numbers.

Several were evicted late in the game, the rest kept singing , chanting, supporting.
I was surprised CD barrackers could be so disruptive.

When I read the title of this thread and read the first line I was going to delete or lock this thread but Im glad you put it into perspective.

I agree wholeheartedly, they walked past me twice to get down the end they wanted to get, yes, feral, but yes, also very passionate and very loud and they definately add colour to the GF. I took quite a few photos of them if you check out one of the pics threads, they were great.
The only thing that does confuse me is why there's only about 20 end to enders at minor round games but about 500 of them (at least) at the GF?

I was actually not far away from you wedgie, as my pommie mate explained to me (Port Fan) local soccer season has finished and now are able to go to the games as they are not playing. Plus I saw some friends go who went end to end and as far as I knew don't normally go week to week.

There isn't 25,000 at a minor round game, I think all groups get bigger come finals.

Agree with the theme of this thread too, if people can see past the stereotype all supporters groups are a terrific addition to our game.

Both good points mate, can't disagree.

As I said in another thread, I did see quite a few evictions but it was only kids for minor stuff, nothing serious from the diehard fans.
Both crowds made great noise in different ways on Sunday, it was about the crowd I expeted but the noise level was a lot higher than what I expected, I thought it was a great atmosphere.

Agree with you in respect of the atmosphere too. Credit to the dogs supporters for chanting late into the game - in the members bar late in the last qtr a rousing rendition of you dogs broke out!

Yeah, I wasn't there in the 2nd half but I've heard from everyone that was there that the Dogs fans chanted and made noise right to the end. Full marks to them. I don't think I could have but I suppose you don't know until you're there.

Differnce between a CROWS fan and Centrals fan is when
the going gets tough onfield the Crowies fans flock out, the Doggies
fans get thrown out!
Still cant get over that chanting when thier team got flogged, you
would have to call them very passionate supporters.

Yep, and Mrs smac almost left without me, I shook the hand of every Eagle supporter I saw on the way back to the car - almost had to walk back to Elizabeth...

Bandwagon, They must have the biggest bandwagon fan element of any club in the sanfl. They all just seem to rock up on GF day. Having been to all 23 Eagles games played this year incl the games against CD I have to say there a big bunch of bandwagonners. They didn't have anywhere near the amount of end to enders through the minor round as they did at the GF.

So all the eagles fans present yesterday went to every game as well EHL? If there were no bandwaggoners, it would have been an exceptionally empty place! Jesus, go to the club and celebrate!

If Centrals & the Eagles both had a 75% bandwagon crowd at a GF, you still wouldn't notice the extra Eagles supporters.

You know, if the Eagles had as many supporters as the Dogs....

...then Centrals would be doing something wrong.

In all seriousness.
