Have they changed the ground in recent years, it used to always be sand based which despite making it look good make it feel like an ice rink and there was never that darker dirt/mud I can see in the pic.

No change.

Our ground like most others has many more hours of training/playing due to the rise of womens games. Just wear and tear.

We have built a second oval over the fence at the school in order to help take some pressure off.

41 points up in the 3rd quarter and we get a draw .. ffs !

Sums up the season really for us guys.

We shouldn't get too precious about the state of ovals, and Mr Wright would surely reflect that his comments were trite.

And well done to Matt Broadbent. Had a successful career but is a quality bloke more importantly. Panthers will miss him.
