Won’t be by plenty if we happen to win. West recently have given us a lot of trouble & our list of injuries to key players is growing. Hosie & McGree still 4-6 weeks away, Snook, Bailey & Stretch all under an injury cloud too.
And we’re not playing that well ATM.

First game against West since attaining a premiership. The last time the Bays played West after a premiership, the Bloods won by 16 points. West was very good on that day; played like they wanted to win.

Since then the Bays have won their last 7 against West. Four of those were by margins under 2 goals. Hardly what you would expect given the relative ladder positions of the two teams.

This time around, as you say, the Tigers have a serious injury list. The Bloods are not travelling abysmally and Brady Searle in particular will lift for this game - he will want to show his old coach a thing or two.

Glenelg will win, but West will beat the spread, whatever it is.

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we win this, we aren’t playing well and our list is a long way off what it was last year, depth is gone and lacking some real quality in the middle. The other sides in the league have all recruited well and a lot have better squads than us now. Jake Walker showed a bit last week on debut, hope he continues to take the game on and break the lines. Hunter Window should get another go, we need more pace all over the ground. West have looked impressive in the bits I’ve seen. If we can stick with them, maybe we can grind out a win. Need to start improving soon before it’s too late.

Carnage at the Bay. Stockman and Bell off in the first 8 minutes. Neither will be back on.

Bays up by a goal at 1/4 time.

A solid win in the end, given the injuries both before and during the game, the opponents' physicality and some lazy umpiring.

Thought Glenelg's second term was as good as anything they served up last year, but for conversion. They shoulda been 6+ goals up at the half. Westies made them work for the win in the end.

West are much improved and it’s hard to begrudge them coming goid given the quality of people like Harts at the club.

Boys emptied the tank today after effectively being 20 v 22 from the 10 min mark of the first qtr

We got back to playing more like we did in 2023.

A win you can build a season around.

Good result after being down two players early, played well with the wind in the second and last quarter. The next game against the Eagles should give us a better idea of where we're at this season.

Reckon we know where we are at, banking wins the last 2 weeks has been valuable. A win at Woodville would be against the odds. We have too much quality sidelined at the moment and the chance is there for the "fringe players" to show their wares. The bye has come at a good time, we are not supplying players for another State game.

This time in 1986 we were 2 and 4 (beaten by three teams that didn’t make the five the previous year) compared to 4 and 2 this year.

Not saying we haven’t got things to work on or be better at but this year was always going to have some challenges.

Our last two weeks have been better in playing how we want to play.

A week off and then three challenging games in a row.

So where are we at then? Are we a top three side this season or just scrapping in to play finals? The Eagles game should give us a better idea than the last two weeks IMO, that's all i'm saying.

Will have Snook, Bailey & possibly Hosie back for the trip to Woodville.
