Thompson and Goldsworthy have announced their retirement. Great servants of the club for a very long time. Multiple premierships and important roles within the club. Hopefully that provides a spark for the Eagles to give one last push for finals.

He looks a fair way from his best this season. Menzel and Goldsworthy both struggling. Thompson still playing well.

Pretty ordinary spectacle in the first half. The margin of 10 points probably flattered South, as WWT had twice as many inside 50s and appeared in control. A couple of costly blunders by South in their defensive 50 certainly helped the Eagles’ cause.

The game opened up after the long break, and it felt as though every time WWT ventured forward they registered a goal. A meek final term from the home side. On a damp day the South small forwards (Fitt, Wilkinson, Grocock) couldn't get near it, not aided by just 32 forward entries being recorded.

After a competitive block of 7-8 weeks the past couple of results suggests the young Panthers have run out of puff.

Just 832 in attendance, falling just shy of the setting the record for the poorest attended game at Noarlunga in recent times.

After 5 weeks o/seas and not seeing any games, it was with trepidation that I went to Noarlunga yesterday. Reports of lack of team play, poor skills, disinterest from some players, selfishness from others and general disharmony looked on the money in the first quarter. From then on though, the Eagles started to get control of the game through experienced heads in Rowe (BOG), Redden, Sinor, Ballenden, Williams and Thompson to lead at half time. The second half was more akin to the first half of the season, Eags scoring freely. Whether this has been a turning point, next week will tell against Norwood. Special mention to youngsters Lukas Cooke and Bailey Hahn who probably played their best games for the club.

The South boys responding to Wright's 2 year extension.

Crowds are dropping as people have lost faith in the club. Wright can't get the team to win and yet receives a 2 year extension.

I thought Baynes was gonna come in a make positive changes but it's just the same old same old.

832 crowd is very poor considering there was a free ticket offer for every member.

The poor crowds are going to hurt the club financially.

Bit of a worry.

Round 12, 2023 - South 3.12 (30) def by North 6.9 (45) in front of 815 at Noarlunga. This might be the record low.
