Bradley Fisk won silver whistle (Best Boundary Umpire) ... apprarently he's been in the Tour Down Under

Peter Challen won the goal umpires award

Good night, showed umpires are human & do have a wide range of personalities

Warning .... their end of season footy trip this weekend is to Mildura

Agreed, many thanks for the invite. A great night had for sure - got to see some of the lads in a different light. Also very encouraging to hear many of them watch "Total SANFL" (even AFTER some of my more colourful critiques of their performances during the year ;-) also. A good fun night!

Richard Williams has definately been the most consistant umpire in the games I've seen this year (20 North + 3 nuetral), congratulations, well deserved.

With the pathetic standard of the SANFL umpiring this year, did anyone deserve to win it?

It only takes 1 (or 2) of the umpires to perform poorley in a game and it can give the appearance that all the umpiring on the day is at that standard, the award (like the Magarey) is awarded to individuals, not the whole "team". Umpires like players will have good and bad games, some just seemm to have more off days than others, R. Williams was not one of them.
