Games to be Moved from Adelaide Oval in 2007

Due to renovations the Anzac Day game as well as about half of the year (also the first week of finals) Adelaide Oval will not be available to the SANFL in 2007.
Time to give Adelaide Oval the arse the way they treat the SANFL and keep games away from this hole. Leave the dog of a place dormant in the footy season and laugh as the SACA go bankrupt I say. Thebby Oval, come on down..........

At least the rugby stays. Match made in heaven - SACA, an elitist institution with no idea, rugby, a shit sport for elitist knobs to be seen watching.

Put some seating on the Thebby terraces, rebuild the light towers, build a couple of bars. How much are we talking, a couple of million?

Come on why do up Thebby? The money should be spent by the clubs doing up their own grounds.

Or,as an alternative, the old heads at the prehistoric thinking SACA pull their collective heads in,and the SANFL drop the wall that was erected at the advent of the Crows and both work to develop two venues that will benefit both cricket and football.Clearly both organisations have individuals who have been left in the past with their thinking,or,they gain in some way ($) from the current set up.

Every one loves Adelaide Ovel,no denying that, and,Im sure a day-night game at Footy Park under lights with a gentle Southerly change blowing across in the middle of summer would be a top spot to enjoy a one day international.

BTW,I am fully aware none of this will ever take place.Sad,but true.

Adelaide Oval is one of the greatest grounds in the world, for any sport, and I've been to a few around the world. If the clubs don't like it for whatever reason then they should simply ask not to play there at all.

The Marquee out the back of the members stand during the annual Test is one of the greatest cricket events in the world - just ask the players (home and visitors included) how much they love coming to Adelaide every year.

I wouldn't be surprised if the SANFL approach Norwood about having more games there in 2007.

So when do people feel the renovations should be done? During cricket season?

I hope not. The only thing going for Norwood is that you can get Coopers there.

Thebarton Oval would be a good alternative to Adelaide for the 2007 season.

Norwood and Thebarton will and should probably used quite a bit.

If ever there was an excuse to do up Thebarton, this is it.

Thebby needs to be done, scoreboard for one, with toliets on the outer side and food and drink stands.
Lights are fine as there was an underage training at Thebby one night mid season and with the lights on, you could see all of the ground with no dark spots.

Bottoms to Thebby Oval. A game at each teams ground and one at a country location (Saturday only). I would be willing to go to Mount Gambia next season to watch Glenelg play a league game, good excuse for a weekend away!!! :D

Didn't like Thebby Oval at all- Too many buses to interchange with, score board crap, and timeclock: couldnt see one!! and its not a neutal enuff oval for my liking. Norwood oval would be exceptable for maybe an extra game, plus Norwood need the money.

I agree that Norwood need the money, and they need it badly.
