Rhys Archard wins 2006 Knuckey Cup
In front of 300 of the Panther faithful at Alan Hickinbotham Oval, Noarlunga, Rhys Archard was awarded the 2006 Knuckey Cup as South Adelaide’s Best & Fairest player, Saturday night.
Archard, a first year player from the Echuca Bombers won with 44 votes from Craig Parry on 38. One vote behind tied on 37 were former Echuca team mate Scott McGlone and Magarey Medal runner up Stephen Kenna. Tied for firth place on 36 votes were Alwyn Davey & Josh Thewlis.
The awards ceremony concluded a successful season for South which saw the Panthers win their first finals game since 1990 and finish the season with a record six game winning streak at Noarlunga.
The club is looking forward to even further success in 2007
