Eagle News #14

Postby cd » Thu Oct 19, 2006 9:57 pm

The celebrations continue - tonight both premiership teams - mens and womens - were guests of the City of Charles City for a Mayoral reception at the Woodville Town Hall. The Council had the Town Hall decked out in blue green and gold and made presentations to players from both sides. I guess one for spelly as the Mayor stated he now had bragging rights across all councils having both mens and womens premiers in his city and doesn't think this has happened before.

Tomorrow night - the Club Championship night at the Venuto club with already 400 guests booked - room for a few more - ring the club asap - with at least 125 more than can be accommodated in our upstairs function room it should be a great night with such a big crowd at our 2006 presentation night.

Membership for 2006 was 2051 - a record in our 16 seasons - Thank You to all Eagles fans who joined up - watch for some special offers in your renewal package at the end of the month.

Lots of premiership gear now available at the club - would make a great Christmas gift and remember you get a $10 voucher to use towards merchandise if you spend $50 included in your membership package.

New for 2007 buy 2 adult memberships and get a junior membership free to give to a relative (son/daughter/grandchild/niece/nephew etc.)

The board has been working on a very special innovation over the past year - we hope to announce soon - may be due a couple of things to do - we wont be able to release til Dec/Jan but i reckon will be something special - keep tuned!

On a personal note it has been great to keep telling my Centrals supporting brother what the scores of the GF are - I owe him!!

It would have to be a first - unless Sturt won the Womens comp in 2002.
