At the club awards tonight a very large, happy crowd enjoyed a great night. Highlights of our premiership season on screen were enjoyed by all including the 2 best marks of the year - Inkster at Richmond and Westbrook at Footy Park.

Ron Fuller's appointment as 2007 coach was announced to all attending.

A special deal for all Eagles fans was announced in that a CD with almost 600 photos of the grand Final day will be available from the club next week. Photos of the prematch, of the game, of the presentations, of the victory lap, of the change-rooms afterwards, of the celebrations back at Woodville Oval - a wonderful CD of our great win - place your orders now with the club.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, if Lindsay & Cicolella tied for 2nd place, how could Inkster be third? Surely he would be 4th B&F, and Powell would be 5th instead of 4th?

BTW: Well done to Mark McKenzie, he had a top year and it is well deserved. 2nd year in succession,

He is the man I'd call Mr. Reliable. So often you see him take marks around half back; he always seems to be there. A very deserved winner is Mark.

A special part of the night was the induction to our Stairway of Champions of Justin Cicolella.

Also great to have Hills Industries as Major sponsor for next 5 seasons.

I agree with that.
Well done to Macca.

How old is MacKenzie? 23 or 24? Surely he could slot comfortably into any AFL teams starting 21.

You would think so. He has the footy smarts and skills, but I'm sure the AFL experts have written him off because he is 5cm too short to be a key position player and 0.5sec too slow in the 20m sprint to be a midfielder...

He's one of the success stories from the mini-draft - picked up by the Eagles when he was a rookie with Port Power and then went across to Carlton before being recruited back to the Eagles after he'd finished there. With all the stories you hear of top AFL players being home sick coming to Adelaide, we have a guy who has come back purely to play SANFL.

He's a gun. First 2 places in reserves B & F are both Under 19's. Nice work.

Great night had by all and a fitting way to end our premiership season. Good to see Ron go on for at least another season, sad to see Rick McGowan go and a very deserving club champion in Mark McKenzie. Well done to the footy club for hosting another top night.

Brilliant stuff cd - put me down for a copy. Are they still doing a highlights of the season DVD? And good work on getting the memberships up to a very respectable figure (aplologies for doubting you on a previous thread!!)

Each of those awards and placings are a very accurate reflection of the season, and well deserved by all.

Hills, Fuller, flag, everything rosy at the moment!!

Oval naming rights is a matter for the council in the first instance - not something the club can just do.
