Jeremy Clayton won his second A R Mclean Medal at the 2006 Senior Presentation Dinner on Friday night in front of 350 guests. Clayton polled full votes for 3 of the last 5 games of the season to just pip runner up John Baird who had a terrific year in his first at the club. Corey AhChee was 3rd followed by Matthew Lokan and Mark Clayton rounding out the top five vote getters for the season.

In other awards for the night, Mark Dolling was awarded the Best 1st Year Player, with Kristian DePasquale winning the most courageous, Matthew Lokan the Best Team Man, and Mark Clayton the Most Dedicated.

In the reserves awards, Tyson Wait won the Best and Fairest from Mark Dolling and Joseph Hay.

Congrats Jezza. Although not as consistent as last year, his best games were on a higher level from last year. Cant argue too much with the awards, although I thought Lokan was pretty high. Guess he did a lot of good tagging jobs and the like.

Well done to Tyse in the reserves as well. Very well deserved. His 2nd half of the season was absolutely awesome and he should now be confident to push for senior selection for a lot of next season.

In other news, Paul Evans has retired and Chad Davis is confirmed as leaving for Victoria next year.

I would have expected Clayton to win, and Baird must have done well to get close to him. Does anyone know if Jeremy is going to nominate for the AFL draft this year?

8 Votes in the mag/medal :?:
Obviously umpires had a vendetta against him.
Should have finished in the top 3.
Great year in my book after that spleen injury.
Good to see Port Adelaide recognised his talents with the Mclean Medal.

What the umpires see and what the coach sees is often two different things and that's why the MM and a club's B&F is different.

He has a propensity for pointing out what he perceives to be umpiring errors in a vociferous manner.

INteresting to see Luke Slattery in the top ten of both grades, I thought should have been in Ports League side all year, heard a rumour hes heading back to country in 2007.
