Feast to play on maybe

Postby Blue Boy » Tue Oct 24, 2006 5:44 pm

Feater is goin to do preseason which is great news !!!

But he is goin to see how his body comes up and is hopin to go on again if he feels he can still contribute to the side.

He is 31 and I feel that he would still be valuable to our side - especially with Deluca / Kurtze and Bowen all still bein kids.
It is what it is !!!

and the Falcons search for a ruckman continues...bugger... :x

Seriously though, with some well earned rest, Simon will have no problems seeing through another year...good luck to him..

Feast to play on

Postby sturtpeter » Mon Feb 05, 2007 3:31 pm

As I posted on FootySa.com, Simon's continuing to cope with the demands of pre-season training.

Let's all hope for the SANFL's sake he continues on because our Comp can ill-afford to lose players of his Class and integrity.

Great player in his time, very intimidatory ruckman at his height but should have retired 2 seasons ago IMHO.

We've lost our Sturt "thug", but at least, in Feast, we still have our 'hack"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Would it be fair to say most of you guys would only see Sturt when you play them? ie a couple of times a year. Feasty has had excellent seasons in the couple of years past - without him we would have been in far more serious bother, if that is possible.

I'll back that up. He was excellent in the last minor round match. I thought in 2004 Lindsay was just about done and O'Hara would take over, but class will always prevail and I believe, provided Feast can keep his fitness, he'll still be a very handy league player for a young Sturt team.
