SANFL Fixture for 2007

I was just thinking about the SANFL fixture for 2007 and was wondering about when the seasons draw will be released by the SANFL. Does anyone have any idea about when this maybe done. I was also thinking about what I'd like to see happen in regards to the Eagles component of this draw. I am also asking for everyone's opinions on waht they'd like to see from their club's draw in 2007.

From an Eagles perspective I'd like to see 3 home games at Thebarton, a trip to Elizabeth Oval on a Saturday night  , Anzac day as a neutral game at Thebarton, 1 trip only to Unley (we all know it's a hole of a place to watch footy) , a home game at Woodville before round 7  .

Send us your thought on what you'd like to see.

IIRC, they cant get down and dirty * with the SANFL drawer until at least the AFL draw is out.

This years draw was announced in mid/late November, i think.

I think that it's likely that we only have 1 game at Unley as we only play Sturt 2 x next year (1 at home/1 at Unley).
Hopefully we get a game at Woodville before Rd7. We should play at Elizabeth, but don't know if it would be at night or not.

Meaning not played as an Eagles home game as a neutral game just like any other Anzac Day match has been. With adelaide Oval out of action, what more of a reason would you have to move this great game to thebby.

I just thought it would be good to experience Elizabeth under lights. I hope we're 1 of there fixtured games but somehow I doubt that. The SANFL will programme clubs like Port and North for those types of games I think.

I think you will find the ANZAC game has been at the cost of a home game on most occasions. Centrals have coughed a home game on a few occasions to satisfy the SANFL.

That said, would love the game to be at Thebarton - neutral, home, away - it matters not at the end of the season.

Last year it came out at the end of November, the year before it was December 20 by memory.

Hopefully they think long and hard, especially the "showdown" weekend and the week of the afl bye when neither SA team is playing.

strong mail to expect at least 2 country games this year - one down south, and the other up north, possibly whyalla or the surrounding regions. friday night football is a real possibility to reduce at coopers stadium, with adelaide picking up more games in the second half of the season. a strong chance that one club will make a real bid for sunday football and be granted this wish.

expect hamra homes to be a big winner in the night football stakes - they may host up to 6 in 2007.

Wouldn't be expecting more than 3 or 4 (night) games at Coopers Stadium this season

Unlike some Glenelg supporters I dont just go to footy to watch football game, I also go to there with a couple of mates to have a few beverages instead of going to the local. If there is Sunday games we will go to local on Saturday and probally not go to many of Sunday games as we all get up at Dawns crack to go to work- my mate starts 3am. So as my signature says, No to Sundays!!

If AO won't be available for the first half of 2007, surely that'll mean more night games at Coopers and Elizabeth??? I know that weather and AFL games need to be considered but I for 1 prefer playing Norwood at Coopers at night rather than a day game.

You can have a meal and a few beers before the game(if you're not driving of course,) and really enjoy the fierce rivalry between the Double Blues and the Redlegs

a night game at Brighton Rd would be fantastic too.

Balmy April night etc.
