Motlop Returns Home
James Moore
08/11/2006

The North Adelaide Football Club would like to announce that Shannon Motlop has just been signed to play for the Roosters for the next two years.

Shannon last played for the Roosters in Season 2004 before being redrafted to the Melbourne Football Club where he played a further ten AFL Games in the next two seasons. During his time in Melbourne he also played in Two VFL Premierships for Sandringham, being named in the best on both occasions.

We look forward to Shannon being an integral member of our League side as we strive for the ultimate success in 07. Shannon, his partner Shannon and their young son Brodie will settle in Adelaide in early January.

Acheivements:

64 AFL Games with the Kangaroos and Melbourne.
Member of the 1999 Kangaroos AFL Premiership Side
Member of the 2005 and 2006 Sandringham VFL Premiership Side.

Salary Cap!!!

Quick someone tell John Condon, oh wait a minute isn't he ex.......

Seriously it will be interesting to see if he has signed on for more or less money than he received in 2004 from North Adelaide. If he is on the same money he received in 2004, that will be ~ 10% of Norths salary cap for 2007.

Geez Tassie everyone knows that North recruits players who play for the minimum wage and the love of the jumper!

Will we see at anytime next year all 4 of the Motlop "clan" in the same side - Shannon, Daniel, Aaron and Thomas?

There's a country footballer who might be trying his luck with Sturt in 2007 who has the same name as his fiancee

Will settle in early Jan? Hope it's before that... Preseason commencing VERY soon, would hate to see him unfit before the first bounce... ex-AFL player or not, fitness goes very quickly over the off-season...

Go to the Northern territory results and you may find he has continued playing up North in the off season
