Sturt not happy with SANFL Draw

As published in today's Mail, The SFC is far from satisfied with Sturt's draw.
The only positive as I see it is we play our first home game at Unley against Norwood in Round 2.
Last season, our first game at Unley was in Round 6, against the Panthers.
Thanks also to Wedgie for clarifying the reason that North won't be playing Sturt at Unley. If only North were as gracious when they switched their programmed Adelaide Oval clash back to Prospect several year's ago:)

We've moved this year's game against Sturt from Prospect to Adelaide.
North and Sturt have virtually the same sort of draws with both teams only playing 7 home games BUT North have one extra AWAY game where Sturt have one extra NEUTRAL game so I'm not sure why they're complaining. North, West and Port all have worse draws IMHO.

I'm a Sturt man and can't complain with the 2006 draw. Sturt's 2005 draw should have seen them finish in the top 3 but the team suddenly couldn't beat teams like Norwood and North - the draws are meant to even out over a five year period so it is obvious an easy draw like 2005 will be followed by a harder draw in 2006. Get to play CD,Eagles & Nwd 3 times in 2006 - there's 9 losses already based on 2005 so it looks grim - but Sturt fans cannot whinge about the draw.

Guys, Realise that the draw does nothing to enhance our prospects for 2006.
Last year we had opening games at Adelaide. It suited us but still wasn't an excuse for nothing at Unley until Round 6.
AJ is sitting pretty.
No game at Unley, no fine for his indiscretion in the Elimination Final plus a squad which may and I emphasise the word may, bring him success.
Sturt received a miserly return for their requests.
MST, please stand behind me!!!
I love Sturt but I fail to see why we have been given this draw.

A good team will win, no matter where they play. It's really only the supporters who care where the game's played (and their perception of how it's crucifying the team). Losers make excuses, winners don't. Only one point I will make, and that it is not right that sides be penalise with preparation (ie a team playing a Sunday/Monday game, backing up on a Fri night, when the other side has had the bye). This happened to the Dogs (I think) this year, and North have it next year. I say it's disgraceful, no matter which team has it. This was evident also in the AFL- same thoughts there.

The only two problems I have with the draw are that for at least the second year running we have the bye before the state game and that the club specifically requested a game against Port for the opening handful of rounds, yet the SANFL has somehow managed to schedule our first clash with Port for round 14!!!!

agreed, esp when we had a celebration planned for the 26, 66 & 76 flag wins in which 2 were vs port...im sure the SANFL could have sorted us out on those two requests, but it looks as tho most teams didnt get what they wanted....but this will not have any effect on where we finish on the ladder...i look forward to the challenge to play the eags and dogs 3 times, gives us more chances to beat them and wouldnt that be sweet!!!!

Bloody oath Jimmy! Bring 'em on 22 times at their home grounds in front of their own fans, with our own fans locked out and we will beat them 22 times! Don't give a rats' who we play or where 'cause we are the MIGHTY BLUES from Unley.
All ye other clubs shake in yeh boots and fill yeh diapers with shit at the sound of the name MIGHTY BLUES!

A team like North??? WTF - we were hardly "strugglers" so what did you mean by that quote?

What's the bet that Sturt will be unhappy with the 2007 SANFL Draw this time next year.

A team on the slide for a couple of years.. You have to beat the draw, you have to beat the ump's, and you have to beat the opposition to win Footy..! No excuses..!

Hilarious
The draw doesn't really bother me, as Punk said "A good team will win, no matter where they play".
Quite frankly we're playing in SA, It's not asthough we're heading to Perth or something geez.
