West Adelaide appoint assistant coaches

Postby CK » Sat Nov 11, 2006 8:29 am

As reported last night, former Sturt assistant coach Brodie Atkinson has signed with West Adelaide as an assistant coach to Wayne Weidemann next season. In a bigger surprise, however, Norwood 1981 Magarey Medallist Michael Aish will also be joining the Bloods in the coaching box.

Very good news for the Bloods, and a further sign that they are approaching 2007 in an extremely professional manner, both on and off field. A blow to Norwood, however, who would surely have been hopeful of Aish joining them in a coaching capacity eventually.

I didn't mean to keep this thread going, but I am at a loss with the comment about Michael Aish. Why would it be a blow to Norwood if Aish joined West Adelaide in a coaching capacity? Was it a blow to West Adelaide that Mickan coaches Glenelg? Was it a blow to North Adelaide that Trevor Hill coaches Norwood? Mystifying comment.
