West v Centrals country game

Postby Dogwatcher » Mon Nov 20, 2006 9:15 am

Negotiations underway for game between WAFC & CDFC in the Riverland next season.

Should be good! Well for me anyway.

Are you the driving force behind this DW?
Works out quite well that the club that is zoned to your country area brings up your team for a game?
Makes sense to as all those Dogs fans that live in the Barossa etc would probably consider going.
I look forward to some more country games next year, definately the time to do it with the lack of availability of Adelaide Oval. Looks like the draw will be back to the 2004 release time of mid/late December as opposed to last year's Novebmer release with all the logistics of it.

Certainly not the drving force. In fact nothing to do with it - I'm only a player up here, nothing else. Although I did hint to the RFL CEO when it was first mooted that it'd be great if Centrals were the team Westies played.
But as you said with the Barossa base, it makes sense.

I'd be up for a Riverland roadie... :D

All the grounds in that general area (Renmark, Berri, Loxton) are SANFL standard. Berri Oval would be best, the pub is right outside one of the gates.

Loxton would be much better! Club rooms right on the oval and you can watch the game from them....plus I'd be able to walk home then!

But, Berri is definitely going to get it. It's RFL HQ.

I think Westies have played games at all the Riverland ovals except Berri?
