A leak from a mate of a mate of a mate.
Glenelg might be upset at having a bye first round ?

Nothing worse than having a bye in the first round IMHO, its when the most development of your game is happening and puts your one week behind the rest of the comp. I have my fingers crossed that North don't.
I doubt any club with half a brain would request the first week off. I'd assume it would just happen on a rotational basis every 9 years and clubs would have to lump it.

[quote="Wedgie"]Nothing worse than having a bye in the first round IMHO, execpt if you have the bye in the last round and hope that your not in a batlle for fith spot and relying on other teams to lose

I disagree, at least you've had equal preperation (and better than 1 other team) going into the season so at least begin on an even keel.
You'd only have yourself to blame in the situation above, it'd be in your own hands.

That would be strange if Glenelg asked and wanted a bye ?
If I was a player I could not wait to play the first game.
Still they would be undefeated, I guess.

I would rather a bi at the first round than second to last game as per last season. Lose momentum.

It does suck for the fans having the bye in the first week, but it can be a positive in that it gives the team an extra week to get ready for the real battle. Ofcourse, the opposite can be said too....

Glenelg's first game is Sturt, so it could be two byes straight.

Im sure the Bay fans can squeeze into Coopers Stadium in Round 1 and get stuck into EVERY player on the ground ... Actually there have probably been times in the last decade when they've done this anyway

The bye sucks at any time. A very unattractive part of the footy fixture.

It denotes any sexual connatations there may be in a post.
For eg He palms balls beautifully *
or as above: I would rather a
bi at the first round *

id rather be a bye in rd 2 than a bye in a Grand Final (00, 01, 04, 05)

Almost, not exactly
Origin is
"Not that there is anything wrong with that" became to tiresome to type.
So it was shortened to NTTIAWWT *
became
* Not that there is anything wrong with that
Which via natiral progression became just *
