Pretty fair draw for Glenelg, no excuses if we can't make the finals this year IMHO given the improvements we showed last year.....

C'mon Jimmy - by bagging Lizbef, you're bagging your own mate. You can be a toffy nosed Sturt supporter all you like, but you still lived there....maybe it's the fact that it's part of your life that so offends, we tend to reject our own when we're trying to hide from things.

Strange

I couldn't think of a better way to start the year than a nice trip down to Encounter Bay

(mind you, the missus will be 8 1/2 months pregnant at that time, hmmm)

I mean, come on, who am I kidding? Start the season one week before the AFL? Nah, lets start it one week after the AFL.  :?

No night games for the Eagles - we don't deserve them, anyway. Nor do we deserve to unveil the premiership flag in the opening round.

Stoked from a North supporters point of view but it does full circle as North and Port had the worse draws from memory in 2006 and get the best draws in 2007.

I get to see it this year (as in the flag unvielling at the 1st home game.) as the underage play Saturday and the league plays Sunday. :D
Get to see at least 7 Eagles games this year.
Any chance that the Eagles will put on a bus or two for Rd 1.

Agreed, with the history of the Eagles crowds the SANFL wouldn't want either, a home game on the middle of a long weekend at Woodville would have been a disaster especially as it would have probably taken the ABC game. Eagles and SANFL were smart and will get the best result possible by having Rd 2 at home against Port.

I am not ‘in the know’ here, but I reckon you should find out what the club asked for before bagging specifics of their fixture. Clubs ask for some things that appear very strange on the surface.

And the unveiling of the flag is an overrated thing IMO, I have seen a couple and been very nonplussed about it, spent the last few getting an extra couple of drinks in before the game started.

Generous Rating

I do think if you were a norwood supporter your draw would rate the draw in the bottom two.

Norwood:
10 home games
10 away games
Plays Port, South, North and Central 3 times
Rating: 6

That's right, except the Eagles/Port game will probably be the telecast game anyway.

Edit: It's on a Sunday.

Yeah, I put the 'weight' on how many home and away games clubs got.
Last year I did two ratings, one weighted on where games were played and the other with who was played 3 times.
As far as teams playin others 3 times the ratings would be (with 1 best and 9 worst):

1. North
2. Port
3. Glenelg
4. Sturt
5. Eagles
6. West
7. Central
8. South
9. Norwood
