I was out and about last night and bumped into Damian Cupido, recently delisted Bombers player who is rumoured to be on his way to West Adelaide.
It was about 1.30am and I was reasonably charged up but I approached him and told him I'm a Bays fan, and was wondering if he was committed to Westies, or whether he'd be interested in coming to Glenelg.
His response:
"I trained with West tonight, but I haven't made a decision yet. Glenelg offered me $45k but at this stage it is more likely I'll go to West".
In my drunken state I promised him the world if he comes to Glenelg...his loudmouth mates started demanding $100k...I told them to chat with North or Port for that sort of coin...
Just quietly, I didn't believe him that we'd offered him $45k, but if anyone knows any differently I welcome your confirmation.

Just quietly the guy is a total knob.
His laziness, selfishness and utter irresponsibility when it comes to playing the "team" game is a perfect fit for West...but Christ the lad has some talent.
If he brings his A-Game...I'd like that at the Bay...if not, I'd love to be giving him a serve over the fence...
Quite simple really...if you're wearing a Bays jumper, TB loves you...if not, TB will be screwing

with your mind all arvo.

I don't know if West are actually that interested. The link may of come through their other Essondon recruit Haynes. They did the courtesy of talking but were treading warily.

$45k equates over 20 rounds to $2250 - a lot per game (Pre-Tax). I know a few better performed (eg SANFL proven) recruits that would love to get that.

I just wonder how big he shall get when he starts to get lazy again. I mean im not calling him big or anything like that, im just saying with the sanfl training being say slightly less with the whip than AFL. Then again im probably wrong......

Just heard on 5aa that him and the Weed had dinner last night and if he doesn't get picked up he would be keen to go to West Adel. Can someone stop posting up rumours about players Glenelg have apparently all but signed, first Stokes then Morrison, now Cupido... When will we sign a player??

Next year is lookiing shithouse if you ask me. If we got the last two i'd be excited for 06, but nothing normally works out that way, why should it now.

Don't believe EVERYTHING you read LBJ...
BTW...I think the problem with us BAYS fans is that we get so excited about potential signings that we let rumours become reality in our minds...or at least let our hopes take over...only to have them dashed.

Bay supporters have hopes? We better crush those as flat as their dreams.

as opposed to south supporters, who don't have hopes and dreams to begin with

Surely he will get picked up in the Draft and wont come to SANFL. One of the most naturally gifted and talented players going around. Would love to see him in at Richmond Oval thoughQ!
Blacky, why doesn't Douggy want him? Have we already got enough match winners?

The last time doug opened his wallet the Queen blinked, and that was a five pound note. Doug dosn't want to spend money we have to keep below the Cap by alot of Money. If westies spent some money brought one or two good recruits and held onto most of our youthful players we might have a chance of winning a Grand final or at least playing in one.
