As reported in today's messanger Central have signed Charles Slattery from West Adelaide, for the up coming season.

The Dogs have all but signed utilty Nathan Grima from VFL side Tasmania and 20-year old ruckmen Lachlan McGhie from Williamstown, both have been training with the club for a couple of weeks are set to officially sign before the new year.

There is also a third player from an unknown VFL side to arrive before Christmas, from good source (Callinan)

The best news all of though is that Chris and Jame Gowans plus Nathan Steinberner will be playing on for another year. :D :D :D

On the flip players to leave this year are:
Paul Scoullar (retired)
Luke McCabe (retired)
Stuart Cochrane (retired)
David Kellett (retired)
Michael Taylor (overseas)
Ricky Butler (country football)
Stephen Brooks (finding new club)
Andrew Bawden (taken 12 months off)
Chad Norsworthy (finding new club)
Justin Westoff (Port Power)

Info on Slattery from a Westies insider (played with him):

"He makes some bad decisions and can get very negative. But is bloody good on his day. Knows how to get the ball. Reminds me of Robert Harvey. A bit unlucky not to get drafted a few years back."

Stephen Brooks I have heard is training with Sturt. He is Ok. Gives 100% struggles kicking but would be a good Full back.

Thanks for Slattery westies.

Plus Stewy Dew to this all looks good for 2007.

interesting...gotta love 'footy' parents. let 'em live their life!
I've seen another bloke's SANFL career ruined due to that sort of bollocks.

Troy Makepeace signs with Casey Scorpions
Wednesday 13 December 2006
The Casey Scorpions have made one of the most significant signings of the TRUenergy VFL pre-season, locking in former Kangaroo Troy Makepeace as a playing assistant coach for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Makepeace has been a key component of the Kangaroos backline in recent seasons and brings the experience of 139 AFL games to the club.

Now bury that story "he is gone"

Who will become the Mark Cosgrove of the SANFL. Diet anyone?

He's played professional football for nearly 10 years and his weight's never been questioned, pace maybe, and we're all aware that he's chunky - but Port's never raised an issue with his weight.

Although it is interesting that Cossie and Stuey come played cricket for Salisbury/Northern Districts.

Anyway BP - remember Grenville Dietrich? Diet should not have been in his name...ANDDDD you've got the Hamburgler Twins in your coach's box ;)
