As reported in the Tiser - Hart is now Ben Hart is officially a Rooster player as well as an assistant coach for Season 2007. A huge pick up to boost a defence which at times has been a bit suspect. A better than average replacement for Koops!

He must be the the most experienced and highest profile ex AFL to return to a State League comp that I can recall?

would be wonderful for all the north fans out there to see a favourite son return...
would have been good for sturt to get back a sanderson, russell (back in the day) etc...
you'd just be hoping that he can get on the park consistently and have an impact.
all the best too him, one of the only players not in double blue that i enjoyed watching

Id say so, although the John Platten return was fairly high profile considering he had been in Melbourne for a few years, hope it goes a bit better than that.

hows bens hammy's tho?? or what injury did he have that kept him out?? was it soft tissue....???
is he going to be one of those returnees ala platten that only plays a handful of games and isnt influential on the field or will he play 20 games and do his job...having him as an assistant coach may just have more of an impact than on the field...if healthy, he could be the missing piece for norths flag run.

Forgot about Platten and yes I hope he is more productive than Platten was?

Huge signing for NA. Not generally in favour of recruiting ex-AFL players late in their career but Hart is a gem. Will be the best CHB in the league by a long way if his body holds up and he doesnt fall into the trap of thinking the SANFL requires any less attention preparation wise than the AFL.

Perhaps we should limit it to ex AFL players who actually had an impact at AFL level

Come on BB

It's got nothing to do with $. The guy feels he still has something to offer football wise, and he is North Adelaide through and through. He first played for us as a 16 year old and his old man played for us.
