Westies website has announced a trial game in Hobart on 24th March against the Tassie Devils VFL team.

Great work by the new management.

While they are down there, get the Devils to leave the VFL for SANFL.

10th team dilema solved, with a much shorter & cheaper trip to Tassie required rather than Darwin

Totally agree, Phil. It would be a better option than the NT.

Christ, they better win otherwise it'll be embarassing for the SANFL, go West!

PS I think they should spend more time and money on worrying about premierships instead of jetting all over the country!

Shouldn't West be spending money on juniors/improving facilities?
What financial benefits will they get?

West Junior Development Policy =

1. Wait till South develops a heap of talented juniors in areas abounding West Zone.

2. Change the zone.

(or has that changed post Doug?)

:D  How long since the boundaries were changed, SO64? i think our 2006 Under 17's premiership team would have been about 2 at the time.

Not that you carry a grudge :D

Serious question, do as many of the kids now as before come from the southern 'burbs such as Flagstaff Hill, Aberfoyle Park, etc?

Plenty still come from the southern suburbs, but West's juniors would consist of the Southern players, local metro players and Riverland players.

Westies play their game first, so if they win, then the pressure is on North to do the same.

That's not a grudge....

A grudge is not forgiving those dirty rotten murderin' sassenach loving Campbells for the slaughter of us MacDonalds in Glencoe in August 1692.

I think the word is actually "something" but often pronounced by South Australians with a "K"

Have born witness to similar in Qld and the western region of Sydney, by people known as westies so guess its not out of place here.
