Same here Jimmy. Being an outsider I only know what the South supporters tell us. I hope it goes well for their sake, and the SANFL's. I'd love to see South bringing in an extra 700+ supporters through the gate every week.

Hardly a coup. Only 4 of the 5 on the ticket got in which leaves 6 other board members.
I listened to Phil Cox's speech and it made some sense. The club does need to build on the solid financial foundation we now have and make short and long term plans for our football future. I would have preferred to see a committee appointed to oversee a long term planning and leave the short term plan for the coahing panel to implement.
The BIG worry I have is that personal ambitions will get in the way of the clubs current short term plans which are on track.
I would hate to see the club repeat the mistakes made at Glenelg (no disrepect to the Louts) over the last few years. I am getting to old to wait another 40 years for a flag.

Does'nt sound like Mr Pyman is to happy with the election result -huge rumour he's headed to freo as an assistant. He is obviously a tad concerned re his immediate future at South.
Also hear that South are under investigation by the sanfl for alleged salary cap breaches.Apparently a disgruntled player has spilt the beans to the sanfl.
Messers Cox, Mousley and Keam are now about to get a very quick education in football club administration, accounting and Human resources.

There's a shock! South breaching the salary cap! Wonder how the SANFL really found out? Perhaps they struck this site by accident, and discovered what we've known for years....

I guess that proves then WCP that most of your supposed supporters aren't paid up members.

ORD Remember that only members who bother going to the AGM get a vote!

Which is a fantastic result (wish we could say the same!) but that's one of the points, it was attained with the help of board members who have been ousted. I guess though that if the brains behind the financial performance were mainly among the 6 that remain, it won't be much of an issue.

Ben Cavanagh (the new GM) said on 5AA tonight that Rob Pyman will be coaching at Arctic Park next year and they had been fielding enquiries on this for a week.
He admitted that the SNAFL was looking at the salary cap at the club, as it is doing at ALL other clubs. Which is standard process each year.
So rather than worry about us how about you guys get on the phone to your clubs and ask them if they will be sneaking under the cap.
PS Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year 'cos we're gonna mess up your season.
(Sometimes too much faith is a bitch!)

i don't think too many clubs will be keen to sniff around as it might lead the sanfl to have a look at their club, even maybe north.
the player who is going to spill the beans will want to be careful as we have his signature for two more years. it's a bit rich when we have nursed him though all of this. no doubt his whining carping girlfriend is also behind this

Benno, was speaking to someone who would know on the weekend and I would say that you are right in regards to Tuckey's missus putting up the roadblock. She's just got a promotion in Brisbane and obviously want's to go but South are sticking to their guns and won't clear Tuckey because he is only half way through a two year contract.
She's probably got the shits on and would have encouraged him to speak out in regards to certain "issues"
