Ive only included the teams with a chance.

Personally I expect an improvement from Westies and think it may be out of Sturt or Norwood.

Interesting as I briefly considered adding Port to this poll.
Start a poll mate, probably worth adding North and South to it too as there might be some who think one of them having a chance.
Some poor misguided fools even think the Bays might have a chance!

Well actually every club has a chance for the flag, whether that chance is realistic is another matter...

It's a 9 horse race. South won from last in '64 and Norwood won from 5th in who gives a damn

I don't like making bold predictions at this time of year because quite simply, I don't yet know enough about the opposition to make an educated prediction.

From my point of view, I don't see Sturt having nearly as bad a year as 2006, which had to rank amongst the worst statistically in the clubs history.
I feel we were extremely unfit and undisciplined last season (I am sure most would agree) and those two factors alone will improve immensely as Rick McGowan has put new disciplinary measures in place, as well as having the side fitter and stronger than has been the case for a number of years.

I can see Sturt, at the very least, doubling the win column which would give a 6-14 ratio at worst. I can't see six wins earning a wooden spoon and therefore I would be very surprised if we were to 'win' it!

Despite such a horror year the Double Blues were in winning positions on a number of occasions but failed, through lack of fitness and discipline, to take their chances.
Central at Unley, Norwood at Coopers and again Norwood at Adelaide were games where Sturt were in winning positions. It may be drawing a long bow, but two other games that spring to mind were North at Adelaide (six goals up at half time) and in particular Eagles at Unley in the last game where we had the chance to go three goals in front late in the third quarter, missed two sitters and conceded two goals late in time on.

I have to wonder if most peoples predictions are based purely on last year?

In short I am confident 2007 will be a far more competitive year for SFC.

This is a big ask for Spell-check, but if possible, could you post all of Sturt's half-time scorelines in 2006?
This I believe will go a little way to backing my theory but more importantly it will highlight just how badly we tended to fall away in second halves through a serious lack of fitness!!

Sturt will improve and will do for the year, they will be a dark horse for the top 5, centrals will be the team to slide down the ladder, will just hold onto a spot in the 5. Norths AFL side should make the top 2, if not questions will be asked.
