i've received this letter from port (afl) it says

WE NEED YOU BACK
we know you support our great club. but now is the time to be more than just a supporter


& it goes on & on plus all the deals

my point is just because i'm an sanfl member what right does it give port (or the crows for that matter) the right to assume i barrack for them, i go because i like watching footy albeit with afl tactics i got boored last year & this year is their last chance to keep me interested, infact if little bayman wants to see gibbsy play this year otherwise i would not of got a ticket this year

i just asked little bayman & he said he would never play for them

as for me i'd see a lawyer as we all know it is restraint of trade & one day someone will take them to court & it could well be me (if he was good enough) although little bayman is a lot better cricketer than footballer

I had same thing happen to me after going to Lions and Port game, a few weeks later Matt primus rang up doing a membership drive.I just laughed and hang up after telling him the game was excellent (Lions won!!! ).

i guess its the same with those phone companies out of india phoning you up wanting you to change over phone companies........................................................

same here Bayman...just because Im an SANFL member Im counted in the member figures for Port and Crows...what a joke...Melbourne dont count MCC members in their numbers....Their membership numbers are fraudulent

It must kill you guys being classified as a Port Power member by the AFL!

what shits me is when the Crows and Power beat their chest on how many members they have yet take teh SANFL members out and they come back to the field big time!!!

Does being an SANFL member get you in to every SANFL game as well?

4 SANFL games only. It used to get you into every Footy Park SANFL match.

Agree that based on that inforamtion the number of Crows and Power members are over-inflated as I know of people who aren't on this site and are memebrs of Footy Pk but support Melbourne based clubs.

However of 20000 SANFL members I'd bet the breakdown would be 50% crows supporters, 40% power 10% others. For the sake of this arguement I'll say 20% SANFL members are in the "other" category - 4000 in total. So if you take 2500 thousand off the Crows membership (tops) (TV polls show Crows are more popular than the Power 2:1 - well Crows supporters are 2:1 more passionate that Power supporters to demand their game is showed in its entirety before the show a Power game interstate is broadcast on delay ) that still gives us 47 500 members, still the best in Australia.

Closer to field granted but not big time!!!! Still out there in front members wise.

My guess at least 20% wouldn't support either team, and possibly no AFL team at all...
