OK folks, here is a real surprise. A quiet summer for many being the off season and all, but a very busy summer for others.
Norwood is now the first SANFL club to offer "RedlegsTV" over the internet. It will be on line via the club's website soon but there are currently some pilot episodes on YouTube as a sneak preview, which you can source by simply doing a search under "redlegstv."
You will see highlights of the 1950, 1975, 78, 82 and 84 Grandfinals plus the game against Carlton in 1976 and a highlights reel featuring contributions by a few fans in the 80s. Hopefully these features will have particular appeal to our expat supporters like Locky, USA, JAS, SimonH and others, including country supporters.
These are just pilot features to whett your appetites because there is much more to be released. See how long it will take for the other clubs to follow through with this initiative - not even all afl clubs have their own internet tv option showing highlights, interviews etc.
There are a number of additional improvements that have also been developed for the website and these should begin to surface in the next few weeks. We've taken your feedback on board from earlier posts and we have spent all summer quietly attempting to meet your desires in terms of improving the site, and hopefully, exceeding your expectations.
The work to date has taken literally hundreds of hours over the off season by a bevvy of volunteers. Special thanks in particular to Dave Murrin, Kyle Smith, John Devaney, Peter McConnell, Jason Kendle and Gavin Williams, and advance thanks to Rohan Semmler for ultimately loading it all on to the site.
The website should never be static and it is hoped that this big refresh of the site will keep the fans - adults and juniors alike - occupied for endless hours at a time scanning through over 100 profiles of past and present players, over 500 pictures and images in galleries, and basic stats on all 1348 players to pull on a league guernsey for the club. In future, we will continue to build upon what will be very solid foundations.
Who knows - we may even arguably end up with the best website of any SANFL club soon and importantly, there will be a dedicated junior zone for all of our younger supporters.
There are a few more surprises in store also but I will keep them up my sleeve for the time being - keep checking the main website and if you have any feedback or constructive criticism, please let us know.
