Only in the last few years stampy, they originally had finals planeed accordingly to when the Crows played and "moved" them to a Sunday when the Crows had a Saturday final, but even when the Crows got a Friday night or Saturday night final they casually forgot the orginal plan and kept them on Sundays.
I'd go as far to say 90% of SANFL finals have been played on a Saturday which the SANFL are quite willing to throw out the window, mind you they're so stupid they're just rehashing Sunday games this year which they tried 10 years ago.
I think you'll find we had Saturday finals as recently as 2000.

If they used commons sense, the 2 double header finals would be on Saturday afternoon (of course to be moved if the Crows had a Sat arvo final which is pretty rare these days even though it has happened recently), have the Prelim on a Friday night in a big build up to the AFL GF the following day and then have the GF on a Saturday afternoon.
Would get more people to the games, would please C2 more and would increase the profile of the SANFL.
But we are talking about the SANFL, as long as the hot dogs are warm at Footy Park they're happy.

very true wedgie it is very hard to enjoy yourself at a sunday game as you always have the thought of work/tafe on your mind atleast in my case.

They sell warm hot dogs at Footy Park? Where?

For me it doesn't bother me when the finals are played, as long as they don't clash with the AFL to maximise exposure.

The other thing is that for the period 2000-2005 the Gf was the Oct long weekend so Monday wasn't a problem. Last year & this year it is the weekend after.
