Who is the best SANFL Radio Commentator?

Postby Sojourner » Sun Feb 25, 2007 9:59 pm

I used to think that KG was the best radio caller on the SANFL, yet 5AA have much less a focus on the SANFL these days in preference to the AFL, so the gap is picked up by smaller stations that are not so popular as 5AA. With that in mind, who do you think is the best SANFL Caller?

My preference for station is 5RPH because I think they do the best job of promoting the SANFL, yet I do think that Doug Oakley of LifeFM is the best caller, - tone, description of the game, passion, it is all there and I think that the package that he puts together puts him in front of the rest.

It would be interesting to hear Doug Oakley call a Power - Crows game, I think that he might well stitch up a few of the popular AFL commentators! 8)

I've seen Total SANFL a number of times, and heard all of the stations that call SANFL, and agree CK does a fantastic job. He seems to be aligned with RPH, but you wouldn't know - you never hear him on there apart from tiny cameos - just the same names every week doing the same shows!! For someone who clearly knows his stuff and comes across very well on air, they don't seem to use him hardly at all. Another station could do a lot worse then to snap him up and give him more of a go.

David Wildy is the one I would have liked to hear do more SANFL games
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Doug Ray Ban certainly has a great voice for radio
Never give a sucker an even break

Nor ban a user for an acceptable topic of discussion.

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

loved it when 5aa do the grand final, they deserve it after all the time they give the SANFL on the drive time show and other sports shows they have.
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

I don't know who the best is - but I'd have to say the worst is Peter Walsh.
