What will the outcome at Souths be?

Damn Panthers - just as they look like they're starting to make headway, they stuff up again! According to the Tiser. If it's true, there's going to be some issues.
With the Clay Sampson non reappointment and the angst it's causing, they could be in for a torrid time, and someone's going to have to back down for the good of the club.
Who will it be? Will Sampson be reappointed or will he leave? How can the club save some face after telling one of its favourite sons he won't be captain?
South supporters, fill us in....

Why wouldn't they reappoint him as captain? I couldn't believe it when i read that in todays Tiser. After making the finals for the first time in years last season, stability is a must!

This is my reply to a thread on the Panthers BB.
Heard Dumb 'n Dumber talking about this yesterday.
I have mixed feelings about this if it is true. I believe Clay has been the best captain the Panthers have had for decades if not ever.
He has shown guts, determination, skill, leadership and sacrifice that I have not seen from the leaders of any other club. (May be biased but probably not).
Anyone who has seen him on a regular basis shrug off a trainer reset his shoulder and get back into the game and immediately lift those around him, will recognise his championship qualities. (Apart from the minority around the the club that still blame their lack of credibility on their mum for feeding them on the wrong breast).
Unfortunately and I hate to say this, time stands still for no man. This may well be Clay's last season. He can not keep putting his body through the pounding he has for the last few seasons. It may be that a new captain needs to be broken in and I think that would be best done with Clay as his mentor.
I would love the club to declare this a testimonial year for Clay so that we can all show him our appreciation for his contribution to our club.
