South announce leadership group

Postby CK » Tue Mar 06, 2007 8:13 pm

After much speculation, South Adelaide tonight confirmed that Clay Sampson will continue to lead the Panthers as skipper, with Matthew Smith continuing as his deputy. A 6 man leadership group has also been added, comprising Gerard Bennett, Steve Kenna, Scott McGlone, Ben Neagle, Craig Parry and Tom Hately.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

What an absolute farce, why all the hoo hah recently, did the club change their mind when there was an uproar about Sampson not getting the gig?

When did the suggestion that Clay Sampson was not going to be reappointed come out of the South Adelaide football club? Who from the leadership of the club said that was the case? Or did someone simply make it up from outside of the club to sledge South Adelaide?

No farce I dont think, just announcing their leadership group. Just because it isnt announced when certain people believe it should be it means jack. People read too much into things, make stories up and love to follow the crap the media feed us. South Adelaide will be a very good side for a while still and they will play finals this year again.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

I said it was a farce because its a similar episode to what happened with their coach all over again.
You would have thought they might have learnt from that experience.
Similar to the SANFL too.
Make a decision.
Someone kicks up a stink.
Change decision.

Good luck to South I hope they do well and I expect them to do well but they really do have to improve some aspects at that club, hopefully it wont affect their on field performance and they can knock the Bays out of the finals running again this year. ;)

For once I agree Wedgie.

There is no doubt that Sampson was the man for the job . For anyone from anywhere to suggest otherwise is ridiculous. Methinks the whole thing was a media beatup- Rucci style.

On a more positive note.South have also announced a 3-4m dollar upgrade for the facilities at Noarlunga with building to commence in April and hopefully completed by Christmas.
