Who should be the 10th team or should there be 8...?

8 is better in my eyes...?

Which team should go...?

WoW.... That opens another arguement.....

The Bottom team in 2010 should go......

I didn't vote...

possibly think even bigger over the next 10 years.
12 Team Comp
Northern Territory
Tasmania
Country SA???
Expand to a 10 Team comp soon, probably with Tasmania, then see what happens over the next few years, having an NT Bid ready, if all is well after being a 10 team comp for a few years look at NT and a 12th team Possibly Country SA.
main reason being i think both a Tasmania and an NT team could work.

I honestly beleive a team from Mt Gambier would be able to field a very competitive team in the sanfl.
Currently the Western Border League fields teams from Mt Gambier -25000, Portland-15000, Hamilton 12000,Millicent -5000- Throw in the Kowree Naracoorte League and pick a team from all these clubs, buy in an import or 2 and get Allan Scott to sponsor the team and away you go.

A Team from Fleuria Peninsula , based at Victor Harbor. Good population that could support a team and close to Adelaide .

The same person who pays your astral travelling fees to watch your team play their matches #21 and 22 in the minor round, under the current setup...

So, where are the options for:
a) Mildura and Mallee/Wimmera regions
b) Mt Gambier/SE SA and southwestern Vic, and
c) (just to get everyone really upset) Sydney Swans reserves?

The entire Fleurieu Peninsula population is currently 35,000; one-third of what it'd need to be to support a club (presuming you could persuade the current region-owner to give up all of their players from there). Mount Barker is even worse: 10,000 in the town and 23,000 in the MtB district. (The whole Hills region has about 65,000, but of course many of them would already be rusted-on supporters of one of the existing 9.)

The problem with any SA option is that you're cannibalising players who are already in the system, coupled with a sheer lack of numbers in the country. That said, I'm surprised that no-one ever talks about an Iron Triangle team, as Port Pirie/Pt Augusta/Whyalla are all close enough to each other, and put together are the most populous part of rural SA.

And not too far travelling either.

Alternatively, get the Puffs and the Cows to give back all the players they stole, and merge them

I'd like to see the SANFL go to 12 teams... bring in the Territory and two SA regional sides.

None, none at all.
Leave it as it is.
I hate the talk of another side coming in.

The way I see it is ... if a side should come in, it should be viable for them to come in even if it creates a bye.
If the team wouldn't come in if we have 10 at the moment, then they shouldn't come in.

Leave it be.
