Star WWT captain Justin CICOLELLA has been suspended for one match
after an altercation with Adam THOMPSON in the WWT V ST trial match.
CICOLELLA was deemed guilty after a head high incident.
Does this mean he will be inelligeable to win the Margery Medal ?

Don't think so, only suspensions in the "season proper"....

Souths David Clarke got reported on the weekend for making contact with an umpire, but got off. Must have been his good recent record that got him off.....

He is also no doubt pleased that the SANFL, with its usual impeccable logic, doesn't allow video evidence (of another incident) from trial games.

Having just flicked from the thread mentioning 3 players carried off on stretchers and then seeing the title of this thread, I just about had a heart attack...

Yes, pre-season doesn't count.

I don't really understand how the tribunal works. According to The Advertiser he will miss round one against South. He is named to play in the trial tomorrow. Surely if you get suspended in a trial game you miss the next trial game. Seems strange??? I also assume he decapitated the Sturt player in order to get suspended for an SANFL game...

Doesn't happen too often but I agree with you fully Aerie if that's the case.
If he got suspended in the GF he misses real matches, if he gets suspended in a trial game he also gets real matches and continues to play in trial matches.
Ridiculous if that's that case.

Cica was reported in a sanctioned trial game.
The penalty determined by the tribunal is one match to be served in season proper.
Thus is free to play future trials in preparation for season proper.
Suspensions are served in league competition games not sanctioned trials.
As reported in a non medal voting game is eligible for medal.
Happy to be corrected if any of above incorrect - think i've got it right.

There's not doubt you're right CD, we just can't see the logic in it.
He should miss out on a trial game but be free to play in the season proper.

If a player can just whack anyone in a trial game and only miss trials as a result, then there would be no real deterrent. It would almost be worth it to hit an opposition club's key playmaker because all they'd miss out on would be trial games, and they could still play round 1.

And therefore his consecutive games tally will end at 45:

Excellent stats spelly, just goes to prove my opinion of North's poor management (or extreme bad luck) of players in recent years, I hope it improves
