Why is Andrew Jarman boycotting 5RPH?

Postby arthur5038 » Thu Mar 29, 2007 9:45 pm

Listened to the RPH show tonight, they heavily promoted that they would have Andrew Jarman on and when it was time, nothing.
I *rekon this is at least the 3rd time in the Summer Jars has failed to front, including both times RPH ran a special North Hour.
What's the story, RPH not worthy of 5 minutes from the mastercoach?

* no comment *

(and in regard to Barrie as you said he did apologise, his was a genuine mistake so I don't see the need to mention it)
Ive heard of quite a few people from various clubs who have failed to front but Im not sure if anyone has been MIA as much as Jars, I honestly don't know why RPH try to book him.
In Jar's defence he does have a lot more media outlets trying to get hold of him than probably anyone else involved with the SANFL at any level.

Who was on the show tonight? If Paul Blandis was on that'd be reason enough to boycott.

Seems a shame to waste a perfectly good thread like this. Perhaps we could discuss the weather for this week's trial games?

Maybe because not many people in the SANFL could be nearly as important as Jars.

Just ask him.

Was phoned twice at 830 and failed to answer.

In his defence called back at 850.

Andrew Jarman is too far up himself and thinks he is too important to waste his time on media interviews unless he is getting paid. Highly overrated as a coach and not much of a bloke

Since you obviously know Andrew Jarman so well perhaps you could enlighten us with his views on Politics, Children, the Environment etc. Then again I suppose that would be hard to do when you've more than likely never met the bloke. If you've met him and formed that opinion, fair enough but dont judge people on hearsay

Weird comment considering he's done more media interviews than any other coach, I'd hate to see your views on them. :?

Dont confuse Channel 10 paid comments with media interviews. It is common knowledge that Jarman refused to speak to 5AA for quite a while and he certainly has a big opinion of himself. And yes I do know him, it is not hearsay!

Im not counting channel 10, and Ive heard him more on 5AA and 5RPH than any other coach, for exactly what period of time did he refuse to speak on 5AA because Ive heard him on there more than other coach.
Also great to see him in the paper today rocking up to the coaches day although a couple of other head coaches didn't front.
Look, its pretty general knowledge that Im one of Jar's biggest critics but you're barking up the wrong tree with this one mate, if the other 8 coaches got their ugly mugs in the paper or heard on the radio as much as Jars there'd be 9 times as much media coverage of the SANFL as there is now.

I just spent 3 minutes on the calculator, interesting mathematics on that one

Serious question, will Jars be available for comment in the Budget this season?

He was available last year until the Budget/SANFL decided to start censuring replies, this was the official response last year:

Rooster fans have enquired as to why Andrew Jarman is "Not available for comment". Earlier this year the Budget contacted all League Coaches and sought their responses to a series of questions. In Andrew's case, the Budget writer encouraged a more light hearted response to which Andrew duly obliged - not that he needed much encouragement anyway!

It appears that not all his responses met with everyone's approval, as several have essentially been censored by either the Budget or the SANFL itself. North Adelaide Football Club fully supports our Coach and given the amount of publicity he generates for the SANFL competition so should everyone else.

Who are you quoting, Barrie?

Still wouldnt have been that hard to ask him the same questions again, especially as the "not available for comment" must have been printed for at least 4 months......

must be a little more to this (old news) story.

PS don't flame me, I am very much in the "Jars is great for the SANFL" camp.

I was surprised to hear praise (from someone who would know) how very very organised and structured Jars is when it comes to coaching, compared to other SANFL coaches.

No, Im not quoting Barrie

Im not flaming you, Im just answering your questions, it almost seems like you don't want answers?? :?

I have no idea what Jar's coaching organisational skills has to do with the Budget/SANFL not accepting his answers.
