THE PRICE OF BEER !!!

Can anyone please tell me why a can of beer at Broadspectrum Oval on the weekend has jumped up from $3.50 to $4.70, as a member of westies who likes to have a beer while watching the footy i found this to be a little steep.
And to make things worse 1 out of the 6 or 7 that i had was cold, and then they ran out at 3/4 qtr time.
Please let me know the price of a beer at other grounds.

I'll use this topic to ask the question of why at Norwood on Thursday night they decided to only allow one long Indian file line at the northern and eastern bars?
Was it to make it easier for the bar staff?
Was it to stop people from pushing in?
Is it so not as many bar staff have to be employed?
I think what they would have saved in less bar staff, they would have well and truly lost (and then some) in lost sales through people just deciding that it was too hard to have to wait that long.
It seems as though as well that most SANFL clubs are running on a tight ship in regards to paying accounts as running out of booze would seem unforgivable given that there's always going to be another home game in two weeks time.
I do know a couple of people that are/have been involved with Norwood and I'd be interested to hear of their thoughts.

Solution: Take an esky and they won't ask what's in it, unless it's at Adelaide Oval or AAMI or you're in a car at Noarlunga.

cargo pants have enough pockets for a six pack. Wrap ya beers in paper and they stay cool for hours.

I've never had my bag checked at an SANFL ground (that wasn't Adelaide oval or AAMI).
I've never had a problem with an esky at a SANFL ground.

we try'd to take an esky in centrals and was told we could'nt take the grog in so we left it in the car we could carry cans in but not take them in if they were in an esky how stupid is that ? beers were $ 4.50 at the game which is steep weve got the best comp. going round at the moment we should be doing everything we can to get people to sanfl games the sanfl is still real footy unlike the afl where they just play the space and not the player or the footy so lets keep it so people wana keep going to watch it.

Chicken and Egg situation this one isn't it? If a club reduces beer price by $.50-$1.00 is it really going to get them the extra 1,000 supporters per week to reach their budgeted revenue figure?

To be honest I don't pay attention to alcohol prices at any of the grounds, I just enjoy my beer and knowing that my small purchase assists the host club in some miniscule way.

Service however is another matter, and OrDB you're spot on about Thurs night, I'll see if i can find out any sensible reason for the problems.

Bunch of plebs. Get a hip flask and buy some Chivas Regal. No need to line up for anything them. Goes down smooth during a chilly day or evening. If you are going to get on the turps why not do it with style.

Not sure if Centrals still do this or not, if you bought a certain membership package it entitled you four beers and a pie, or vice versa. Pretty handy if you wanted to watch the footy with a beer in your hand. you wouldn't have to dip into your pocket till.... well...depends on how fast you drink but not straight away any how.

Replace Chivas with Macallan and you'll do it with style and TASTE

Surely when a club purchases a carton for about $30 they can afford to sell it to the average punter for less than $108 ($4.50 a can).
Its absolutely ridiculous and greedy.
$78 profit every time they sell 24 beers, un - bloody - believable! :?

Maybe the clubs are cracking down on some of the idiots that go just to drink and cause trouble.
Another case of the wackers ruining it for everybody else.

Taking your own grog is piss weak. Pay what you have to and be done with it. Drink 10 cans at $3.50 or $4.50 is only a ten buck difference and who cares about ten bucks when your half charged!! I might have a whinge about it on the night but I couldn't be arsed organising and smuggling grog in to watch footy. Your money goes to an SANFL club, all good.....

$10 X 30 games = 300 bucks!!
North have always had either the outright cheapest piss or equal cheapest piss since Ive been following them, I hope they continue that this year. One year the CEO even asked for my input re the beer prices a couple of years ago, I told him it should stay as is at that stage and sure enough they did!
Mind you I reckon I'll be saving some money this year, I can just handle Tooheys New but couldn't even get past one can of West End Draught on Saturday, horrible swill. I might save all my money for Norwood Oval where you can have the best beer in the world on top, Im just glad Im not a Norwood supporters otherwise I'd be broke (or in the liver ward) inside Round 10!

Yah all should stop drinking that beer and by doing so will save u lots of money, later invest in a lovely little silver flask fill it with copious amounts of that lovely nectar from the highlands of Scotland, then mix it with a dash of coke a cola and wallah you have a plenty of drinks to keep yah going thru out the game.

WOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF !!!
