Sportscentre on ESPN has just reported that Ross Aloisi is going to train with 'Woodville' in an attempt to play SANFL football
Seems a bit far fetched... although Ross is an Eagles supporter......
as the report called WWT 'Woodville'.... Im presuming ESPN isnt a big fan of facts
Soccer to football

I think he will find some major differences between the codes, namely in football you have to pick it up to kick it properly.

Gee, this is out of left field. I know he is an Eagles man. His knowledge of professional sport could be utilised by the club for sure.

You make a good point Aerie.
But let's just hope he isn't asked to teach younger players about sportsmanship and humility in defeat...

If he was trying out for Westies he may have a chance.

LOL - yes, true. But I think we've had plenty of practice at that thanks to your mob...

Ha ha ha - I thought you guys were well behaved in your win last year (yes, I even hung around for the presentation). Weren't you?
Hopefully we were humble in defeat too.

Hopefully you will get a lot of opportunities to practice this season.

Eagles fans to borrow this one from the Adelaide United Song Book:
We've got the wrong aloisi
Wrong aloisi
Wrong aloisi!

We will take him, forward pocket. He will be able to fake a free kick better than Wanganeen.
Come in Boon

Ross is keeping his fitness up as he sees what the future may bring in soccer. He is with his favourite footy club and we are delighted to have him joining in with us. Certainly his experiences make for great discussions.

This was from yesterdays Advertiser:
Aloisi swaps footy codes
Val Migliaccio
FORMER Adelaide United skipper Ross Aloisi says "changing football codes" will freshen his outlook when he makes his debut at Woodville West Torrens training at Woodville Oval tonight.
"It's good for my head, just to clear my head" Aloisi said.
"Different skills and something new. I love footy, I played it at schooll and I saw quite a few games of the Eagles last season".
Aloisi said Eagles' coach Ron Fuller welcomed the fallen captain to training alongside the state's reigning SANFL premier's squad.
"I want to keep myself in shape" Aloisi said "You never know what can happen in life and it's always good to be well prepared. I spoke to Ron (Fuller) and he said it would be fine for me to come out and train with the team."
Winning the SANFL premiership was a special moment for Aloisi, who was invited to the changerooms after the Eagles beat Centrals in the grand final last year.
"It was incredible" Aloisi said "Being in their changerooms, it's just a completely different atmosphere compared to soccer."
Aloisi revealed that he's been an Eagles fan since he was a youngster with the former Socceroo member a member and ardent supporter.
"I actually know a lot of the boys and we go out together for dinner," he said. "I've just got to thank the Woodville West Torrens Football Club, (fund-raising co-ordinator) Georgie Kantilaftas and (chief executive) John Kantilaftas for their unbelievable understanding."
Aloisi's favourite Eagles player Mark Passador said he wouldn't be able to teach the former United captain any new tricks.
"He's a lost cause I reckon" Passador said, tongue-in-cheek.
"All the boys know Ross already and it would be great for morale. He's played a different game at quite a high level."
Passador, who won last year's Ken Farmer Medal with 79 goals, said the club wanted to help Aloisi's passion for the Eagles.
Aloisi said tonight's session will hopefully be one of many for the Eagles - at least until other A-League clubs seek his services for next season.
But there is no chance of Aloisi switching codes, despite a number of soccer players etching a career from Aussie Rules including Adelaide City's midfield genius Fred Agius, who won a reserves medal with Central Districts.

easier to go from footy to soccer goalkeeper I would've thought, than soccer to any position on the footy field. Seeing him "train" on TV, I think he's sadly mistaken if he thinks he can make it.

Not a chance. Physical presence, aggression, speed of game, fitness levels, all way way above soccer. On second thoughts, he might make it in the AvFL though

but not in SANFL

From the article in the Advertiser, i dont think there was any implication at all that he was training with a view to PLAYING with WWT. Sounded like he was just wanting to keep fit, and be involved in a team environment (for a club that he barracks for), albeit with no view to actually play.
