The Eagles have had the wood on Port the last couple of times they've met. Both were impressive last week and Port will welcome the addition of Waterhouse to the forward line. Plenty of new faces in the Port team so it will be interesting to see how they go and whether they play AhChee forward or back. Cicolella is a big in for the Eags and unless the Crows make a last minute change to their team - Vince should line up for the Eagles on Sunday as well. I'm tipping the Eagles by about 3 goals.

match of the round this one and will be very interested in the scores...think ill even stay up for this one.

im going eags at home, while both teams have a very talented side i think the eags should win at home and be too polished for port.

Hopefully a repeat of some of the quality displayed last week. 2 very good teams . Hopefully the forward structure can perform with the same guile with Waterhouse as it did with Treadrea.

Interesting parallel that the Eagles in the AFL unfirl their flag against the Magpies as do Their SANFL namesakes

I think this will be a tight game I see either side winning by 4 goals or less, although I expect the magpies to win of corse

Its a Eagle conspiracy against magpies  I think they did it against magpies because thats when they have there biggest crowed at woodville
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Maybe its because its the first home game of the year.

Presenting the Flag down at Encounter just wouldn't seem right

For those not going to the AFL tomorrow come down to Alberton and see the Eagles take on Port in the 17's and 19's before the Reserves and League play on Sunday. Entry is free and food and drink should be on sale and the AFL game on the TV inside.

Should be a 'cracking match', really looking forward to it.

Handy to have Cicca back.

I think Port are a dangerous side this year, could well be a chance at Top 3.

Lets hope for a bumper crowd, 5500 + ??

Go You Eagles !!!

Given the Showdown whilst a 5000 crowd would be fantastic and here's hoping, the prediction based on past games AFTER a Port AFL home game is 3000 - 3500+.

I'm certainly hoping for a big crowd seeing it is our first home game & the Premiership flag to be unfurled.

Presentations for last week and this week upstairs after the game.

Big day at Woodville today, see the premiership flag unfearled and then we see the Eagles boys run out and play against a real premiership contender. Could even be a preview of the 2007 GF. Port will surely miss Tredrea, Waterhouse will certainly provide options around the goal front. Certainly will not kick 7 goals though maybe 3 or 4 at best. Eagles regain Cicolella and pick up Dabrowski who will be a go to man to rest big Lindsay and will also provide a taller option up forward. Eagles can still only improve on last weeks showing so for this reason my prediction is Eagles by 27 points.

Great day for the Eagles, I couldn't think of another fan group that you'd want to rub the noses in by raising your premiership flag than the Maggies! :D
Hopefully a big crowd, will be a ripper of a match.
Go Eagles!

I'm tipping in 1988 you would have loved to have your first home game against the Bays......
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Dunno, I don't even remember the unfurling of the flag, I don't think it was as big as event as it is these days, is it something we adopted from the VFL as I mainly remember flags being stuck up over a bar and that was about it, could be my poor memory and the fact North's last senior flag was so long ago though.
