Well done Sturt and Rick Macgowan

Rick has left a trail throughout the SANFL of respect as I've never met one person at any club who has a bad word to say about him.
I was hoping he'd do well in his first role as senior coach role and always said I wouldn't be suprised if he somehowe go them up for a better result this year than last but even then I expected Sturt to go zero and two.
For him to get that list which IMHO is very ordinary compared to most others to 2 and zip just shows the sort of credibility this guy has.
Well done Rick and well done Sturt for having the nouse to choose him as senior coach.
Clubs like Glenelg and West really do need to take a page out of Sturt's books, they've got better resources but still can't choose coaches as well as Sturt does.

Hey, I didn't say they were going to win the premiership!
Honestly, look at their list, miles beind the other 8 clubs, perhaps with Norwoods not too far above theirs and he's already somehow manufactured 2 out of 2 wins.
I think North's list in 2003 looked better and we only managed 1 win for the entire year with a percentage of something like 33%.
Credits due already.

Ill excuse the pun there!!

Yes they have done well BUT they have beaten the wooden spooner from last year and another non-finalist from last year on their home ground, nothing really earth shattering

I disagree looking at their list hence why I made the topic.
The Bays and West have much better lists IMHO.

They play a similar game to Central Districts
Hard at the ball, tackle hard and break open
The skills let them down at times but they are genuine improvers in 2007

As for Mcgowan he was a successful player at CD
He was from what Ive heard partially responsible for getting the EG up in a g/f
He has ST playing with passion

Christ, if he has Sturt playing a similar game to CD than that's a 3rd side North will never beat in big games.

To think the Mighty Roosters let Rick go as a 18 yr old after playing in the jnrs for 3yrs also winning a u/17 gf in 1987. Nunan got this one wrong thought he was slow which he was but didnt notice his great skilss and footy smarts

Letting Rick go as a player wasn't half as bad a decision as letting him go as one of the coaching staff.
At least Nunan had a couple of flags to show for his efforts unlike the current Coach.

There was a possibilty MACGOWAN might have been the Eagles coach
had they lost the 2006 g/f

RR + WEDGIE surely we are not disappointed at JARS coaching.
Bottom + broke when he was appointed

Half right, bottom and a new sudden influx of money when he was appointed.

Not that I can complain as Jars says the Rooster Rally was the reason he got back involved with the club and I helped organise that so if we don't win the flag its my fault.

Jars has done wonders at North.
I can't understand why supporters are not happy with him..
I know he wasn't responsible for improving the club financially by the way of pokies, but he brings the punters in by playing a good brand of footy and promoting the SANFL and his club at any opportunity.

Would you rather a quiet coach and North finish 9th or Jars and compete in finals ???

I'd rather a coach (be he quiet or not) that wins a premiership.
If you look at most of my posts re the coach Im backing him up against criticism more often than not but people tend to forget those.
A better motivator of players you'd never find.

My post wasn't directed at any particular poster, just what I read on other threads that North supporters (none named) are not happy with him and his mouth etc.....

I reckon he's great and I hope he coaches for years to come.
