Roller Coaster Weekend for sp:-)

Postby sturtpeter » Mon Apr 16, 2007 11:46 am

I have had possibly the most emotional weekend of my short life lol.

Mum's Memorial at GDP on Sat night. Sturt's emphatic victory at home yesterday and my birthday Function at Bar Zaar yesterday...

Unfortunately ds32, Paul Blandis DB etc were unable to attend due to personal commitments, however, Danny Norton from 5AA was a welcome guest together with his beautiful partner, Helena 8)

Back to the game. Feast on 1 leg, Glenelg given an arm-chair ride from Rowston and Co in the First term, but to our credit we persevered and finally should have won the game by at least 7 goals..

The Double Blues will not only make the 5, they will push Port, Central North and Co ALL THE WAY :) :) :)

Settle down SP.

Just ask Dutchy what it's like to be too cocky and have it bite you on the arse.

Don't give the football god's reason to be angry. Softly, softly for the emerging Double Blues mate.

THAT Is correct Sturt were far superior then Glenelg and deserved to win by a lot more then what they did. they gave us another lesson about attacking the ball hard. just make sure you do it this week..

The umpiring y'day was as bad as I've seen it for an age. Decisions that were made were as equally as perplexing as those that were 'missed'. By no means could it be attributed to Glenelg's loss as they were terrible for both sides.

However, fyi, Sturt kicked 6 goals as a direct result of either a free kick shot or a 50m penalty that brought the player to within distance. Glenelg had 3 goals as a direct result.

I was amazed with the amount of 50's that were all paid for what seemed to be just for havin a crack @ the umpires by the players - Sturt early then Glenelg later. All players must be more controlled but how much can 1 take ?????

So far you have played the team that will finish 9th and the team that will finish 8th. This week you are playing one of the flag favourites. Ah Chee gave Passador a spanking he will never forget yesterday, so Chambers better be ready for a quiet day. No Chambers = no Sturt.

No worries PAFC. For months everyone has been saying we will finish 9th, eighth at best, and now look what people are saying.....

It will be a huge test for our young group but confidence is a marvellous thing in footy.

We will be competitive and don't you worry about Chambers, AhChee is in for a hell of a battle matey. He is in awesome form but I have to say the 'no Chambers = no Sturt' suggestion is a little fanciful. We had goals from another eight players yesterday.

Based on your theory, if Waterhouse and Jarjoura are kept quiet then the Maggies are up the creek....?

Perhaps engage the brain before you type fella.

Interesting reading about the umpires, I was going to post after the Legs v Port game that it was one of the most over officiated SANFL matches I can remember ... Didn't post because I didn't want anyone to think I was detracting from Ports victory which came from being in a class of their own, but seriously there were some of the softest free kicks paid (to BOTH teams) that night, yet the exact same infringements would be overlooked at other times, perplexing to say the least!

I hope the SANFL get back to a more traditional (well as per the last 5 years or so) method of paying only the clear free kicks, otherwise the officiating will mirror that of the AFL which is appalling IMHO and has too much of a say on the outcome of a game!

Roller coaster ride for sp.

Postby sturtpeter » Tue Apr 17, 2007 5:18 am

Are we playing for a Sheep Station in the Tipping Comp?

I donated to footysa.com's Comp the past two seasons and had I been asked would have gladly done so again on here 8) 8) 8) 8)

Feasty will miss 2 possibly 3 games but Bowen is in good form in the B's and chatting with Brant at my function he can not wait to increase his lead in the Ken Farmer Medal.

We can cause the Magpies plenty of headaches even on their hallowed turf

Bring on Tim's men and we are certainly ready for JJ :D :D
