The Sturt Bandwagon gets Butchered!

I thought Jimmy, Zipzap, Smithy and co would appreciate this, I like our local butcher, early each season he always puts up the Sturt poster and puts the details of upcoming games on his chalk boards, he tends to lose interest by about round 6 or 7 but its great to SANFL with any sort of exposure in everyday life, it was only yesterday when I was at the Royal Hotel at Torrensville which is probably 2 decent torpedo punts from Thebarton Oval only to notice that they'd put red and black and white and black balloons throughout the front bar to promote the game that day.
(PS Sorry about the quality of the pics, its only taken with my phone)

Very cool, thanks Wedgie. Where is your butcher located? I'm gonna make a point of ordering my Grand Final day meat for him ;)

My local fish n chippie was always decked out in Sturt colours too - sad it closed down recently.

Bloody good butcher too!!! Might have to go and have a chat to them this weekend. Cant stand Sturt!!!
I agree Wedgie, its great for the SANFL as it gives it a bit of promotion.
Cheers for that

Our bandwaggon stayed loyal to the Club unlike your mob in 2001-2003 lol.

It could be tough Rooster Meat on serve at the Northern Tavern if you don't outlast a dynamic Panther outfit. :P :P :P

Yeah, I forgot that Sturts crowds were just as big in the early 90s as they are now or were in 2002 and noone went to North games in the early 20002 and there was no march that got over 2000 people walking down Main North Rd when our club was all but dead.
Dude whatever you smoke I want some, PM me letting me know your dealer.

I think sturtpeter is just a little annoyed that out of the millions of Sturt threads on this site there is now one that wasn't started by him.

This is what happens when you let Sturt win a couple of games.

Really no need to come down to his level Marty, is there? (LET us win a couple of games, what sort of rubbish talk is that?)

Wedgie, good news stories about any club's are welcome on here I would have thought. Don't allow one post to wreck things for the rest of us.

One a lighter, more positive note, 10 rissoles for $2 is pretty great value. Might be worth the extra petrol money for a BBQ on Sunday.

What about the black chalk for the word 'Port'? Let's hope the Blues don't chalk up a victory this week or they'll become even more unbearable!

Top thread Wedgie. I love this Butcher, he is bringing a bit of the feel of the "old SANFL" days back. I used to love seeing people doing up their houses and businesses with their club's colours in the early to mid-eighties, when a club was on a roll, you could sometimes get the feeling that entire suburbs were literally yelling out their support through the very walls and windows of the businesses that lined the main roads. Great to see a Blue taking a bit of pride in being near the top of our great competition. Just makes me want to stand up and yell "GO YOU BLUES!!!"
