Glenelg's New Renaissance.....

Postby am Bays » Sat Apr 28, 2007 7:59 pm

Having done what Sturt did last week (which launched a plethora of threads, posts and bleatings by some, defiantely not all, Sturt supporters) I think it is a plausible question to ask....have Glenelg launched a new renaissance given that their win (in percentage terms) was biggers than Sturts

Sturt1 given a Bays supporter (BAyman) started the thread " Are Sturt the real deal?" I'd be a obliged if you would start a similar one on Glenelg....

Dutchy if you start a thread "Well done Glenelg and Mark Mickan" it too would be appreciated...

To all you Glenelg posters feel free to hijack all other threads and wax lyrical about Glenelg beating Port.....

I can remember laughing at several learned people both on here for confidently predicting Glenelg would finish with the Wooden Spoon in 2007.

Sturt1, Punky etc.

Where are you now?

Mark Mickan has given our Club a new vitality, sense of positivity and a direction.

The Bays may take 1 or 2 years to win the Holy Grail but gee it's been an exciting few hours at Brighton Rd
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Watch out Wrinkles. Here comes that hope thing that Glenelg and Geelong supporters secretly fear!

In all fairness, most of those threads that were (have been) launched about Sturt's turn around were by other team's supporters. A lot of the posts praising Sturt were from other fans also. The Sturt bandwagon was well and truly inundated with neutrals wishing us all the best, we happily pass this mantle to you lads from the Bay.
Us Sturt fans will still be around the place, as we always are. We're just not as happy anymore.

P.S that final line is GOLD!

You have to win three in a row to do that. It was the first time since 1987/88 since Glenelg have won two in a row over Port, thus ending the current longest bitch partnership in the SANFL.

If Glenelg's supporters weren't such dickheads I'd dead set have a soft spot for them being so unsuccessful over such a long period of time.
Hopefully they come 6th this year and continue to be the last club to not have made finals in the SANFL with the fantastic humility of their fans.

Who mentioned anything about the entire history of the club? :?
Christ, Im glad you're the worst club in the SANFL as far as recent finals success goes if you're going to carry on or bring up irrelevent points getting excited from beating the 5th club of last year, cripes, hate to see what would happen if you could beat a Sturt or a West!

My post was a joke.

When West beat us last week, someone called us their "bitches", Which was odd because in the last clash between the two (06), We embarassed them and had a day out at the bay.

Seeing as we have 2 in a row, i thought the same applied

I must be pissed dude because looking at your quote and what I meant I thought it quite clearly said you were the last club not to have made finals in a SANFL league season?
Must admit I didn't specifiy it was league though which is the only thing I can think you can pick me up on or am I missing something?
Either way I think its beside the point made? I think? :?

You might have missed a thread in here somewhere to do with a ruling on bitches in the SANFL and how to determine them. It was first established on FootySA that three wins in a row would create a bitch partnership and two to break it.
