some port supporters disgraceful outbursts today

i was on the tunnel at the end of the game today & as the port players were coming off a handful of port 'supporters' were giving their players hell for losing (yes i did to but you'd expect that from us but not from their own) to the players credit they looked & ignored them & it was quite abusive without adding the 'colorful language' it was soft, insipid, disgraceful, heartless, gutless etc etc now i as everyone knows hate port but for their own to give it the way they did was a disgrace & i ask where is their SUPPORT ?

yes it was 'only' 6 or 7 'people' but it should not be any for any team as all players in all sides try & that is all you can ask surely ? !!

Wrong forum I know but ask Ian Perrie about some of his 'supporters'

Happens at every club. I remember two years ago at Glenelg their own supporters having a big crack at their players after a loss (Waterhouse had a day out from memory)

When we were at Prospect the other week we had supporters bagging the players

I've heard a few of our supporters singing the same song in recent weeks and surprise surprise, it was a few Sturt supporters singing the same song today. It says most about the individuals, not the club.

That doesn't narrow it down, Macca! Today was the first time in recent memory that he didn't have a day out against my mob. Sam Rudolph got BOG for his efforts on Clive.

Could be worse bayman, Ive heard many a story of Glenelg fans spitting on opposition club's trainers as they come off which is infinately worse than what you've described.
Kettle, Pot, Black.
Enjoy your win my friend but don't be dick about it.

And his own thread on snoutlouts.org as red faced bays supporters apologise to him for their comments on him over the last few weeks

So I think all clubs have supporters that make their fellow supporters cringe when they hear the vitriole that comes out of their mouths towards their players....

It is one of the joys of beating Port to hear it though as they seem to do it better than most.....

Their have been some comments in the local rag by you know who about the comments of crows supporters towards their players (apologies for discusing AFL on this board) but if you want to see and hear supporters eat their own - stand/sit amongst Richmond supporters for a game.

You've actually backed up my point beautifully stampy.
TY.

PS At Prospect the opposittion only goes off the ground near their own supporters or cricket club fans.

Mate, the point is I couldn't imagine reporting on every incident of supporters being abusive towards their own players, I hear it every week.

You either:
a) thought you'd try and be a sore winner and make some brownie points out of a totally innocent situation
or
b) don't go to more than 1 game every 5 years.

Mate, enjoy your win but don't carry on like a twit about something noone cares about, its not as though any of them got violent or anything.

lol, I thought the same thing but supporters being violent within 2 metres of children happens a little less than supporters abusing their own players which was the point I made before. Well I'd hope it happens less but I can only go on what Ive seen in the last 25 years at games hence my point.
