North and South- the drawing-est teams in the SANFL

Just casting my eyes over the list of recent draws in the SANFL (in the 2006 SA Football Media Guide - a better $20 I have never spent).

North has now been involved in 5 of the last 6 draws in the SANFL.

Three of those draws have been against the Panthers (3 of the last 5 draws in the comp).

South has featured in 5 of the last 9 draws.

And, possibly for the first time in the history of this site, spelly has been beaten to an interesting historical stat

A lithograph should be made of this historic occasion.. Limited edition of five million.

And following on from Pseudo, the draw breaks the 3rd longest drought  between draws in the SANFL.

There was a 791 game break between draws from Round 5 1941 to Round 2 1955.
And from Round 4 1982 to Round 10 1985, there was a 378 game break.
This draw breaks a 350 game sequence from Round 12 2003.
It is the 4th time the scores were locked at 72 points each at the final siren.

My psychic abilities scare even myself at times, today at about the 12 minute mark of the last quarter when South were about 14 points up I thought to myself, a draw would be apt today!

And this is the 8th draw to occur in a Round 4 match - the most number of draws in a particular number round - Rounds 8 and 9 have 7 each.

North moves to outright 2nd for most draws - 21, Norwood has 20.

West Torrens still has the record - 22.

I already had the table done up before hand, so it wasn't a problem. :)

One more thing - 11 out of the past 12 draws have come in odd numbered years.
